Well, here I am - a mature player, done many kinds of music in my time - now I want to just write whatever comes into my head. The term 'jazz' has now become so foggy, I just put it there because that's what I've been playing solely for the last few years - my own stuff is probably a mixture of everything I've done in my whole playing life! I love melody and just love to play with today's new toys! I have an Ibanez semi, an Ibanez Artcore jazzer, an old bass and a lot of guitars in one - yes, a marvelous Variax, wonderful invention, and fitted with a Roland GK-2A pickup to drive my old GR-30 synth. An old Polytone MiniBrute, a stereo Peavey PA amp and speakers and to give me any tone I like, the marvelous Pod XT Live! What an abundance of music-making tools! But, of course, the thing that really matters is the music - that will appear on this site little by little, and I hope some of you will like what I offer. I'll be pleased to talk with anyone whatever their style or persuasion, just music, that's all that matters isn't it? Richard Alvey
