Well ain't that odd....
I realize that Mix is geared more for other genres of music other than country. I don't understand it....but I realize it. So, since I seem to be the biggest advocate (I said "advocate" ) of country music on here, I have to ask. Why is it that the "Tag Cloud" box on the main screen has a bunch of genres in it but not country??
Ok, thanks guys. I appreciate it.
And TV, thanks for calling me a pain in the ass without actually saying the words . But I do understand what you mean. I know sometimes I can be a little bit of a hard ass and fairly "out there" sometimes apparently. And I know I can be a nut sometimes but I like having fun and I like other people to have fun too (like in chat) so I cut up and act stupid a lot. But please don't misunderstand. I have always been and always will be very serious and passionate about music and country music in particular. I realize that I don't have the best recording equipment, nor do I have a band these days nor do I spend time in a real recording studio any more. And all of my songs are done by me and me alone. All of the music, vocals, guitar, and everything is all me. So I know full well that it could be a lot better with better recording equipment and all that but I'm not made of money. So I do the best I can with what I have to work with at the moment. So all I'm trying to say is that while I may "appear" to be a nut, or a liquored up hillbilly, or whatever, I am very serious about music and about my music. I know my behavior can be questionable at times but underneath all that hoopla, I'm just a down-to-Earth 'ol country boy just trying to do what I love to to do, which is make and play country music to the best of my ability.
I thoroughly enjoy being here at Mixposure and I enjoy the people and the music. There's not another site like this and it's a very cool thing. But since I'm country to the bone I feel it necessary to try to promote and propagate as much country here at Mix as I can. So that's the reason for this post originally. I'm just trying to do my part for my particular genre, which is country.
Well, I gotta admit, when Sam starts out a thread called, "Well. ain't that odd!", I just brace myself, cause, while there's odd, Sam's rendition of it can be quite unique. I think there are a lot of country fans on the site, and I'm certainly among their number. While not many of the country artists featured here can deliver the honest-to-goodness, down-home, traditional country sound that OkieWolf serves up, there is still a lot of outstanding country talents here on Mixposure. I'd always stand with Sam to encourage more country play here at Mixposure. (DJ Bubba does an outstanding job if you happen to be outta church by 8:00 p.m. on Sundays...)
