<p>Hi Everyone,</p><p>My name is Mike Herbert and i'm the only member of the band Sanctuary1785. I currently reside in Sudbury, Ont. Canada. Music is a great passion of mine, as well as sports and teaching. I began playing guitar about 7 years ago and have expanded my abilities to drums, singing and bass since then. My true passion however is playing the rhythm guitar!!!</p><p>I grew up in a household where music was a huge part of daily life. My mother had a habit of blasting Reba, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel or Celine Dion on the home stereo every morning before school. She also listened to a varieyty of classical music (in order to make music for her figure skating students - she's a figure skating coach if you didn't figure that out). My father introduced me too his music in my later years (Supertramp, The Beatles, Neil Young and of course ACDC). My grandparents and great grandparents had (and still have) a deep appreciation for the likes of Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Johnny Cash and various other folk, jazz and blues musicians. So needless to say, I had a variety of genres and flavours sent my way as a youngster.</p><p>My biggest influences are Incubus and the Foo Fighters. Incubus because it was one of their songs that got me playing music in the first place (I miss you - it was for a girl, of course...) and the Foo's because they kept me intrested in music!!! In all honesty, I can't put into words what I feel for Dave Grohl and Co. There music has inspired and affected me in a way that i'll feel forever!!!</p><p>My current songs were recorded in my bedroom in my apartment. So the quality is less then "amazing". I must also admit that i'm still trying to find a sound that suites me best and hopefully that day will come soon!!! Until then, enjoy what i've come up with so far and hope to hear from some (or all) of you soon!!!</p><p>Happy Listening!!!</p>
