Shadow Entertainment

An independent music production entity developed by Alabama native

With a background in Mass Communication, and
Television and Radio Production; Shadow’s first love has always been music.

Although he has been writing and creating mixxes since he was a child, Shadow was commissioned 2 do his first official song for the division IV chapter of ’The National Association Of Black Journalists’.
The song was called "Journlyzts In The Hood".
The music mixx was composed by Shadow using samples from songs, ’Daddy’s Little Girl’ by Nikki D, ’Tom’s Diner’ by Susan Vega, and ’Walk This Way’ by RUN DMC.
Shadow soon after created a Jazz Re-mixx Version called "Journlyzts Jazz" using an original piece by Jazz legend Ramsey Lewis. The songs sparked national attention and were hits with journalists worldwide.

It was then that Shadow knew he wanted to actually produce songs rather than being a radio personality playing them.
As time went by he was able 2 invest in a little recording equipment and create the kind of music that he always wanted to.

Shadow’s work roster reads like a who’s who of local talent.

Taking on any anyone with a notebook full of song ideas, Shadow began creating and developing a style which quickly spread through the community like wildfire.
Word of mouth being the powerful tool that it is, put Shadow in a position 2 meet and work with budding artists all over the south who needed music.

Aside from producing, Shadow also managed several of young artists who never had the opportunity 2 perform live before.
Though management wasn't in his original plans,
Shadow felt that these young people needed some exposure so he secured several gigs for them, which included a television show called 'Express City T.V.' and the renown
'Southern Heritage Festival'.
One such group was rap duo, ’Double Empact’.
(Shadow’s brother Mello, and fellow partner Tremaine)
They wrote a song called "Stop The Violence".
Shadow composed the music and again, another song sparked attention that he had not anticipated.

Shadow has always taken the time to do whatever he could for young talent because there was time when he seeked artistic guidance and had doors closed in his face.
Vowing to never be that way, Shadow was blessed with the opportunity 2 help others and accepted it without question.

This is a rather condensed version of some of Shadow’s background. As they say,...'the rest is history'.
