I've got my paddle in the water, I'm paddling with all I've got. The bow is sinking slowly, Glanced off a rock. And I'm startin' to sink down, Into the water, Losing myself in the current. Goin' down, down. Goin' down, Lord, help me! I'm going, going, going down.
(Instrumental)
I've got a bucket in the water, I'm bailing but it's not enough. The water's slowly risin', And I'm runnin' out of luck. And I'm startin' to sink down, Into the water, Losing myself in the current. Goin' down, down. Goin' down, Lord, help me! I'm going, going, going down. I'm going down.

Sometimes there is just stuff floating around inside your head that you're trying to figure out and you find a way of processing it in music. That's the case here. Sometimes the analogy of the solo canoeist seems to fit the way that life feels: alone, in a boat, paddling desperately, being bounced about by a relentless current, glancing off rocks along the way, trying to bail out water to keep afloat and the overwhelming sense at the end of it all is of a Titanic struggle which you are not going to win, regardless of your individual effort. Sometimes, relationships feel that way; sometimes life itself feels that way. Written in a loose Jazz -ensemble style with keyboard(s), bass, and drum kit. I sort of had Peo in mind while crafting this. Wishing Peo all the best as he, quite literally, is paddling his own canoe at this point in life.
Words and music by Terry Recorded using Cakewalk Platinum, and assorted VSTi's, vocal recorded with a Rode NT1A.
This track is really good. I like how your voice remains clear and flowing with the music even when the music subsides and so does your voice. The backing track is simple and uncluttered with over-production. This is pristine music and I could set the player on repeat and listen to it till I dozed off. Oops, I just fell off my chair and dragged half of my desktop onto the floor with me. vig
Music on this track is great and has a strange ethereal jazzy feel. Vox, as ever, are top class.
