When it seems

The Utter Irony of Life -

The first time I saw you

is etched in my memory forever…

as is the last…

and every second

of every moment

of every day

we were together…

good and bad

happy and sad

up and down

right and wrong…

everything that happened

in between…

that first happy flutter

of my heart

to the last insurmountable pain

in my soul…

while waving goodbye

in the middle of the street

and knowing

so deep inside…

I would never

ever see you again…

and realizing

it was my error

that caused our demise

and not yours
