His Words I Read Today - I do apologize for creating this tear jurker it's not like me at all but when Bobby asked me to play drums and mix his fantastic instrumental he must have triggered something in me because this song just fell into place. Bobby Watson did a brilliant job with the original music and Bobby Clohessy provide a beautiful guitar track to compliment his work... It was a pleasure to add drums and lyrics... I hope you like it.
Music - Bobby Watson
Lyrics/Vocal/Drums/Prod - Ian Burrage
Guitar - Bobby Clohessy

No need to apologize for creating a tear jerker.
I think it is a special gift to pull out the feelings of the listener.
Deeply beautiful song, and a tender performance. Love it!

Although these days I am more than happy to be deeply embedded in my studio with my many toys producing the next track for Stoney my musical alter ego I have had a some what colorful past full of shady characters, all night sessions, poorly lit venues, bar fights, cross dressing band members, exploding P.A's, collapsing drum risers, smoke bombs and flying bloody punk rockers...... "ahhh the good old days"....yes I have been in a few bands.... and survived
I can now turn my hand to various instruments for recording purposes but behind the drums is where I feel at home for live work and I have played many styles from jazz to reggae to metal and all stops in between and enjoyed them all.
My passion for recording and production started with my involvement with a local studio when asked to be their session drummer. I soon realized that I had to develop my skills and equipment list to enable me to take it further. I am now just about independent and self contained if I choose to be but I do tend to fight against it as it would be too easy to become totally reclusive in the studio...time just vanishes when working on a new song.
The world is getting very small and where we used to have to search the local music shop notice boards to find like minded musicians to play with we can now hook up with top class musicians all over the world via the internet. During the last couple of years I have made some great friends both here and over at MCS and through the wonders of modern technology we are able to collaborate on each others material developing it to levels far beyond what we could achieve individually.
If anyone would like to collab on my existing or new material please don't be shy just give me a shout ... have fun.
