Ok so my first impression of this one wasn’t what my final thought became. The reason for this is the fragility of the vocal - and I’m guessing it was delivered deliberately so. But at first I was distracted a little by that ...
But the words pull you right into the song and suddenly that delivery makes perfect sense.
The simple structure and sparse arrangement give this wordsmithery all the backing it will ever need.
I do like the way the track grows but I’m also struck by the serenity of those instruments and their introductions throughout. I don’t believe these adds were thought out they just happened - just like a wonderful life it’s not thought it just happens...
