Bio
All kinds of influences breed all kinds of creativity. G.I. (Stephan Hoff) and Jo (Joellen Cabot) have grown up embracing all kinds of different music. Joellen loves the vocals of the R & B divas, past and present, and it shows in her soulful, emotional vocal expressions. Her songwriting draws the listener in to relate-able experiences about life and all that a woman senses and feels. Stephan grew up singing and playing in the church. A musical family environment lent itself to his abilities to find a place to fit in, vocally and instrumentally. A stint in the 82nd Airborne Division provided his nickname. His influences range from rock, pop, jazz, and blues, embracing almost all genres of music and using a little part of all them as the driving force behind his songwriting and producing.
I was fooling around in the studio the other day and before I knew it I had made a video for my newest song "Don't Look Back". It's kinda silly (the video, not the song...well...you be the judge of the song) but I had a ridiculous amount of fun making it.
If you'd like to take a look it's here:

okey dokey i think ive got me head around the new layout ..as i didnt give any initial ideas as to how it should be or look ,,im not going to pass judgement ..bit pointless really ,gets you nowhere and can give off bad vibes which ,as im only living one lifetime , i have no time for :D ... anyways ive been absent from here since and before the big move for one reason ...no energy to create or indulge in music making fullstop ...it happens to me at times and this is one of them ,,also me studio went tits up and needs a total rebuild ,,,thought i could get all me keyboards singing from the same songsheet ,,but it wasnt to be ,,so streamlining is in order ,,,im slowly getting some tuneage done but its painfully slow and arduous and that combo isnt me at all but if it means me getting something down then it has to be ...anyways just thought id let you all know and that ive not jumped ship which seems to happen when a music site has a facelift ...been there got the t-shirt ...oh i didnt jump ship ,,cant swim anyways ,,i mean ive seen it happen on many site ....anyways hope your all well and exercising properly and eating the right fruit and veg and taking the right vitamins and reading the proper books ,,not the naughty ones that concern 1001 things to do with a radish ,,1002 if you eat the f***er ....ok now im waffling and its dangerous when you dont wear water wings and goggles and mine are at the menders till week thursday ...so bye for now and remember never bungee jump with an erection ...you might lose it and the rope falls off ....:D
So we are now about a week in and I just wanted to touch base with everyone. I have started to add in some of the old site feeatures. You will notice a Radio Link in the menu with Podcast and Stream Links. I also added in Page Views and Lyrics to the artist pages. I will try and get to Song Review Counts added soon.
I have been asked, Why did you Change The Site? The simple reason is that the code on the old site was several years old. When we wanted to add new features, it required the developrs to make changes in multiple areas and was time consuming. The new site pretty much sets us up for the next several years. The old site was not built in a day and for those f you that were around in the beginning, you saw changes all of the time. This will be no different.
One of the new features you will see is Foxy Cart. One of the issues we were faced with on the old site is not everyone likes paypal. So people wanted to buy artists music but did not, or should I say would not, use paypal. Foxy Cart was an easy way to integrate with the site and allow users, from pretty much any country, the ability to purchase your songs, cd's, t-shirts and any other merchandise you would like to sell on your page. if you click on the link on your page, you obviously get a lot of feature rich reporting.
What I would like to ask is what features from the old site would you like to see on the new version? One of my top priorities is getting a Facebook App up and running. I would also like to see some new audio players that are a little cooler. So what do you guys want to see?

I went ahead and uploaded "Butt Buzzin'". For those of you who failed, or refused, to come to Jim's show last night let me just say that YOU SUCK. And if you had been there you'd know what this song is about because Jim played it and I talked about it on air. But since you didn't....
I have MS (multiple schlerosis). It sucks but then so do a lot of things in life. We have a friend that also has MS. She recently developed this bizarre symptom where her butt would just vibrate or buzz. I admit it's a weird symptom but a symptom regardless. But if we can't laugh at ourselves then that makes us hypocrites. So, I wrote this stupid little song about her butt buzzing. And, it IS a stupid song. But take it in the spirit in which it was written, which is that we ALL have something and we ALL have issues. But we have to be able to laugh at ourselves and to do the best we can.
I created a new album called "Cover Songs". I have also began uploading a couple of songs to it and also moved a song to it. Some recordings are ok, others aren't as ok. But, considering some the recordings are from 30 years ago....maybe they aren't so bad after all. My band back then was called Rebel Express, so if you see that name, that's what it is. But I'm also going to start recording some of my favorite covers and upload to this album. I haven't decided if it's just going to be acoustic or try to incorporate all the gadgets. But I'm thinking probably just acoustic.
Some of these cover songs are fairly close to the original. But most are MY interpretation of the song. So those are not intended to reflect the way the original artist recorded it. But I think that's how it should be. Everybody tries to emulate the original, but why? That "version" has already been done. Why duplicate it? Do something else. Be original. So that's what this album is.
Since the dust is starting to settle, I thought it might be a good idea to repost this.
I've uploaded a new song called "Walkin' On Quicksand". Please check it out if you get a chance.
