Hi everybody .......i read this article on mixing by some guy who has engineered for profesional bands

i liked his aproach....he said mix like people who are already accepted (the pros)

some of the points he taught were.....pan the electric guitar all the way to the left, add a little reverb......then copy it and pan it all the way to the right with a little delay and ata a lower volume......i used this effect on my new song thirsty check it out...

you want your bass guitar and kick drum the same volume panned in the middle.......vocals in the middle turned up just til it's loud.....you know what's loudest........any more volume would make it softer because of the trebles....the magnitude of loudness is a good way to look at it.....magnitude is "greatness in relation to" something at a higher volume wouldn't have the punch that a lower volume might have....when it's loudest it's loud

let me make an add now........i used these thinks on an older song Unloved and posted the remix also....check it out.....have a good day........joel

One more thought......he said you want your bass tones panned to the left

A big congratulations and apologies for this late post, to Without A Flag for being Mixposure's December Artist of the Month! Kooder is a remarkable songwriter and a quick listen to any of their tunes will verify what I am saying.

Thanks for being a part of Mixposure and sharing your music with us!

When you have time please call round and listen to my latest collaboration Their Moment in Time. Papi's vocals are as stunning as ever, and even better we have Holley Hall on harmonies! I think you may enjoy this sweet little ballad.

The way I see it is that songs are like gifts ... they sort of fall out of the ether into my lap ... and so my role is to understand, serve and respect the song for what it is ... and try to not bugger it up with my arrangement and performance!
