I'd like to wish everyone the happiest of New Years! May we all accomplish all that we set out to do, and learn to appreciate how truly blessed we are.
For your New Years enjoyment I have a new song up called "Out Of The Blue". It's some old school T.O.P. type funk, I hope you dance your ass off!

Here's wishing all my wonderfully talented and creative friends at Mixposure a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! If it's true things improve with age (and, admittedly, I have my doubts... hehe) we can all expect some wonderful new tunes in the upcoming year! We hope Santa brings you that new guitar, keyboard, drum kit or kazoo. Make music and make someone happy this holiday season! That's what we plan to do!

It has been a fantastic year at Mixposure and thank you for being a part of it. I hope everyone takes some time to enjoy their families this season and my the Music Gods bring you lot's of gear!
We lost some wonderful people in 2013 and they will be sadly missed. We also gained many, many, many new members and I for one look forward to hearing your music for as long as you stay on this site!
A personal shoutout to all of the DJ's and Admin for their tireless efforts in everything they do!

A Blues influenced Southern Rocker that was inspired by my new guitar, a Fender Jaguar Modern Player.
The lyric is about the old concept that the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

I finally had a free minute to install some updates to the site this morning. A few things you will see is all of your Followers will now be displayed on your page as well as an online status and a list of any other artist pages you are associated with. The other thing you will see is the song download link a little more visbile across the site.
Please make sure you have updated your songs since the default is to allow the download if the song is not for sale.
Thanks,
Todd
I have to say I'm fairly disappointed (I know....big surprise, right?). About a week ago I posted that I had completely re-recorded my song Trail Of Tears and used my newly acquired Tascam 8 track to do it. I believe the quality is so much better than any of my previous recordings. I also requested any feedback and/or advice for improvement, how it sounds, how is the mix, and what I might do different to make it better.
Since then, I have recieved one comment....only one. I'm trying to do all I can to improve the quality of my recordings and, in my opinion, I'm making good progress. But I need feedback and advice to continue improving. Mixposure is supposed to be all about feedback. I'm disappointed because I feel like I'm making every effort to improve the quality of my recordings and then get absolutely no responses back, except one. It's very disheartening.
So please, if you get a chance, please give Trail Of Tears a listen and comment. Please let me know what you think of the recording, the mix, and the overall sound of the song. I'm doing everything I can to improve on my recordings. But I need honest feedback in order to continue to improve. Please be honest and let me know what you truly think about the song, the mix, the sound, the quality, etc. I greatly appreciate it.

Mixposure.com is Proud to Announce an Evening with Grammy Nominated Artist Linda Chorney!
It is a great pleasure to announce that Linda Chorney will be with us on the Showcase of Independent Artists broadcast this coming Tuesday evening at 8 PM EST, and also will be with us on Sunday, December 22nd starting at 2 PM EST. Linda will be with us on line for an interview both days.
We will be discussing what it was like to be the first independent artist to garner a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year with her album, 'Emotional Jukebox'. During the show we will also be tracking this amazing album while Linda and I talk about the various blockades that the Grammy organization has constructed so that an independent artist does not get into the mix in the future.
This will be a very eye opening experience for all independent artists. This will speak to the need for further organization of the artists while working with each other in order to make a mark in a musical world that now feels threatened by the independents. This should be an amazing nite of music and discussion that will leave us wanting more.
I was there at the beginning of Linda's journey when she got the nomination and the excitement that was generated with the accomplishment and know that she has a lot to say. She also has a new book about the experience that we will be discussing. Tune in for a memorable evening with a seasoned professional singer/songwriter. Linda Chorney is one of a kind.
Doug
