There is music, and then there's architectural monuments, and in our very first Spotlight we turn our attentions to the a manufacturer of beautiful spires. fate_atc.

I stumbled across this artist by pure chance and I'm glad to have made his aquaintance. Always generous with his comments, and a great human being into the bargain, which his why he arrives as the first spotlight-An artist as an artist should be. Honest, pure in imagination and alive with talent that modesty prevents him from even seeing.

Hailing from New Zealand and a Mixposure member since May 2008, his music lifts you into the stratosphere and keeps you there until the end. Tracks such as Exploration, Pathos and loves_reply drive you away from your own existance into a place residing within fate_atc's own mind.

Under his influences comes a broad array of fine musicians that echo in and out of his own music. Boards of Canada, Miles Davis and John Coltrane are there to name but a few.

"FATC
Fate Amenable to Change.

I am a solo parent of 3 kids emerging from their teenage years.Their mother died.

I am recently married to Lisa,my partner in crime, who relocated from Texas to live with me at the end of the earth, and in this I am truely blessed.

I received a classical education on piano, then taught myself guitar, and more recently, have been exploring the virtual studio world.

I am the midi controller.I believe in a free life for the creative spirit.
I like to mind my own business, and not pass judgement on others. Ever Have a bad day ,Week , or has life ever made you feel like you were going down.

Thats what this song is about and what someone might do ,say or think of as they are Going Down.
Check the lyrics out for the track .
Enjoy my friends
Steph
And so it is....

New track, and last upload for a little while because I have to throw it all into finishing this album-which will be ready for January even if I have to become a hermit over Christmas lol.

TO WATCH HER LEAVE is a scenario probably most of us guys have been in over our life spans. The woman you loved so deeply walks away, climbs into her car and all you can do is watch her disappear into the scenary.

A STORY TO TELL
The album is 75% done, and while there is still an awful lot of work to do, it's looking mighty fine if I do say so myself. If you have downloaded any of the tracks on Mixposure you might notice a track number, this is not set as I've playing around with orders to find the most comfortable position for all the tracks so far.

The album itself is a true story, hence the title, and all the tracks are drawn from one moment in my little history. It hasn't been easy, what with all the dragging up of memories both good and bad, trying to find sounds that suit the mood, but it HAS been fun to do.

The release date is penciled for January and it's a goal I want to keep shooting for.

UPDATE: 10/06/08
Track listing is as follows, please note there may be a change or two before final relese.

1. Home Leaving
2. Below A Stranger Sky
3. Lazy Day In Harvey
4. Night Trippin' Wichita
5. Little "D"
6. All Around Us Horizon
7 The Betrayal and the Madness
8. To Watch Her Leave
9. Airport Windows
10. Farewell To New Beginnings

Enjoy the new track (I hope), and as usual any comments, drinks or gifts are more than welcome lol.

IDIOM

I want to say thank you to Mike for hostng my little show tonight.

Thank you, too, to the folks taking an interest and joining us in the chat room. I always enjoy a little chat about myself and my songs!

All in all, a thrill for me and I hope the listeners were touched by something they heard.

Right - I'm at the business end of my bottle of wine and i've practiced enough minor 7th arpeggios and the cat's been fed. So night-night all...

...and thanks again!
First of all I want to thank Cindy...aka Lucindra for turning me on to this site....seems we rock in different circles but listen and play in the same.....all I do is play guitar for a living...once in a while I run into Lu and we play in her studio or she begs me to session for her or just hits me up ror a lesson....sometimes I feel like I'm the one who's getting the leson....thanks Cindy...you Rock!!!
Hey all,,

Just posted up three new tunes from the new project I am in called Sonic Martyr. Hope ya dig em. All of the music was written, produced & mixed by me and the lyrics were a collaborative effort between myself and vocalist Matt Sunderlin.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Regards,
Rob
I wonder what you all make of this and wether or not you`d have been as agreeable as Nigel was...

A couple of years ago, just after I came to live here in Switzerland with Rapster I heard a piece of music "by" Pete Considine.. I really liked the music and sang to it...I sent the finished piece to Pete to see what he thought of it, and he told me to post away if I wanted to, I did want to, so I posted it..To cut a long story short last night our Nigel Potter heard it and reviewed it...This is what he wrote in his review of it..

Terentek (04 Oct 2008 04:00 PM)
The very second this began I thought to myself...
"Groove agent drums and that guitar....it's Peter!!"
So I checked the info, and hey presto
So.....
Ina kind of once removed way,I am kind of on this track, because I used to do the drums for Peter to play with

So hey,we kind of collabed LOL......

Nice to hear Peter again, miss that crazy aussie.
AND...
You really have done a grand job of the vocals on this mags.
Peter's freeform playing is not always the easiest to go with, but you nailed it,no worries.
Excellent.

Nigel

:-)

I thought that Nigel`s review was amazing seeing as there was no mention of his name anywhere...Pete never once informed me that Nigel had done the drums. For me personally I mention ALL of the people I collab with no matter how small the part.. I do occasionally forget to mention someone, I put that done to age, ehehhe and human error...I don`t see how anyone could forget to mention the person who did the drums for them...It reminds me of an Australian band I sangfor only to find those songs on the net for sale and NO mention of my name...I was the vocalist, and had no mention...Quite unbelievable really...

I know Nigel won`t want any fuss here, and that`s not what this blog is about to cause trouble...It`s to get your views and opinions on this very tricky subject...:-)

Incase you`d like to hear the song, it`s on page 2 of my songs list, the 8th song down and is called BED OF ROSES, here`s the link to the page..
http://www.mixposure.com/margot_du_bois/music.php?p=2

Peace n love Mags xx

Hi All

Just posted a jam - not completly decided on it yet.

Let me know what you think

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoJCcSWVgTo

Cheers

Rob
