Some powerfull wishes... I need today

Today.. right about now.1:07pm friday the 18th of July... my father in law is undergoing a tripple bypass heart sugury.  My wife who is a nurse.. is there with her mother and her sister.. I have been keeping my mind strong and focusing all the power i can find.. to help my father in law thru this ordeal...
So i ask.. please.. use some of that amazing human power that we all have.. and wish this man thru this rather frightening time of his life..
I know i have friends on Mixposure that i can count on to put the good vibe out..

Contest Updates

It is so nice to see all the reviews that are being done around here. I want to thank all of you for devoting your time to other people's music! I know we all have our own music to write so it is greatly appreciated that you are reviewing the music of Mixposure!
As a reminder, the <a href="http://www.mixposure.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=12252">Same Song Title Madness</a> has a due date of August 2nd. Please do not post them! Let's get them uploaded to Mike K and we will play them on his Saturday Night Rocks Radio Broadcast! More details will be coming in the forum. If you have not done one before, here is how it works. The winning title was "I Know Trouble" so the idea is everyone creates a song using that title. Vocals are not mandatory but help sell the song a little better. This is a great way to Collaborate with fellow musicians here. The idea is we get numerous genres around a common theme.

CSP - July 19, 2008 Mix Radio Center Stage Presentation with TCP!

Well, I don't think I am off base when I declare that every single Center Stage Presentation so far as been a smash hit! I believe this to be true for not only the listeners to "Saturday Night Rocks", but also for the artists who have partaken in this special feature. So, let us keep the ball rolling and the music "spinning"! Lets get to know some more of these great artists, who call themselves "Independent"! Independent from those huge labels, which take away the creative freedom from those artists. We here at Mixposure do not take away from that creativity and self-expression! On the contrary, we encourage it, live by it and thrive on it! "Interactive Radio" on Mix Radio is proud to present the next Artist up for the "Mix Radio Center Stage Presentation" during my Saturday Night Rocks show on July 19, 2008: none other than the group known as <a href="http://www.mixposure.com/TCP/">TCP</a>. TCP is a Progressive Rock group with many members, namely: Blake Tobias, Glenn Arpino, Glenn Liljeblad, Gary Folchi, Jack Wright, Henry Tarnecky, Reid Tobias, Ange DiGeronimo. <a href="http://www.mixposure.com/TCP/">TCP</a> list their influences to be: ELP, Genesis, Spock's Beard, Riverside, LTE, Transatlantic, Yes, Flower Kings, Floyd, Kansas, RPWL, Zappa, Beatles, Porcupine Tree, King Crimson plus 1000s more (so they say!). This will be another great CSP - I can guarantee it! We truly hope you'll visit our Zzaj "<a href="http://www.mixposure.com/zzaj/store.php">STORE</a>".  Our CD's are home-produced, meaning that you're not paying a middle man a whole lot of extra $$$, plus each CD is fully tested prior to shipment (from our home studio).
 
Over the next few weeks, we will be making sure that a couple of .mp3 files are posted from each of the CD's in the Zzaj store, so you can hear what you're getting before you order it.

They should, since the island band has had almost unlimited access to one since they formed two years ago. Nick Ferrantella, the father of two members of the band – Victor and Ben Ferrantella – and the former tour manager of Foreigner and Mountain who from time to time sat in on gigs with The Leslie West Band, built a recording studio on his Ticcoma Way property several years ago and records a number of bands there, including popular island bluegrass group Eelgrass. He also produced the soundtrack for "Last Call," John Stanton's documentary film on the seminal Main Street bar, The Bosun's Locker.
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-element: frame; mso-element-frame-hspace: 9.0pt; mso-element-wrap: around; mso-element-anchor-vertical: paragraph; mso-element-anchor-horizontal: margin; mso-element-top: 27.05pt; mso-height-rule: exactly;"> On Saturday, Sweetmeat and the Silverfish – with Victor Ferrantella on piano and vocals, Ben Ferrantella on drums, their cousin Mike Stefanski on guitar and vocals, and Chris Beamish on bass – will release the first CD they cut in that same studio, at an afternoon celebration at Cisco Brewery.

Most bands play clubs, then write and record songs. These guys slowly developed with Victor and Mike writing songs, and grew as a band from there. This band has lot of studio time, which is unusual. They have a very good work ethic in the studio. It takes an entirely different discipline than playing on stage to perform well."

Already known for the spontaneity of their live shows at The Rose and Crown, Bamboo Supper Club and Cambridge Street, Sweetmeat's 12-track self-titled CD is a more introspective, reggae- and ska-influenced package that showcases Stefanski and Ferrantella's songwriting abilities and all four band members' musicianship. "The piano and acoustic guitar in the recordings creates that style. It is a little different from that on stage. A lot of the tracks are based around the acoustic guitar and piano," Nick Ferrantella said.

"I do lot of my writing based around a piano sound. When you go electric, things change."

"It really changes from song to song."
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-element: frame; mso-element-frame-hspace: 9.0pt; mso-element-wrap: around; mso-element-anchor-vertical: paragraph; mso-element-anchor-horizontal: margin; mso-element-top: 27.05pt; mso-height-rule: exactly;"> Victor Ferrantella and Stefanski, both employees of Nicholas Ferrantella Landscaping, have been playing together since high school, when Stefanski's family would come to the island from Plymouth during the summer. When it came to forming a band a little over two years ago, the two had already built a repertoire of original rock tunes they had written together.

"It was a natural fit for Chris to hop in and play bass. He's been a friend forever."

The band also has its own MySpace page and at least one heavy hitter in their corner.

He thought it had great potential, but other than that, there's been no real interest in the industry," Nick Ferrantella said.

"The independent artist has a lot better chance today than they used to," he continued. "Bands had to be road warriors then to get an audience. It was never possible in the past to look up an artist on the Internet and download songs. This album is a musical snapshot in time they can take with them to the next project and have forever. Someday it will seem dated."

The trick is getting people to listen. We are hoping to pique a little local interest at the brewery. Hopefully it will have a nice summertime feel," Nick Ferrantella said.
