This tune started as a rhythm I came up with and was grooving on on my acoustic guitar. That part is the guitar part to the chorus. I really wanted to preserve that part so I did my best to avoid adding too many tracks and cluttering things up.
A song about choices that seemed good at the time but in hindsite were, well, doh.
I hope you give it a listen and enjoy it.
Doctor C presented this song to us.....and I was quite psyched up to do it......I liked the beat, I liked the reggae feel, and I liked the the theme. I have to say........THAT.......UI read the reviews before hearing the final mix. I had NO IDEA what Gary was going to do. WOW!! Doc did a superb job in his arrangement and his holding Gary to the one section. That created such an impact to me. The two of those guys....and now Farrell, who has joined us....are the BIGGEST Musical Gift, I've ever received. WOW!! I am HONORED!!!
GO DOCTOR C!!!
Doctor C - Music, engineering, keyboards, drums, arrangement
Gary Carciello - Lead Guitar
Rob - Bass
I hope you enjoy this, as much as I.

Hi All! <br /><br />There was a conversation going on in the http://www.imusicscene.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=93 - Help Mix My Song Forum - so I thought I would send this out this morning. For those of you who may not know, we started this forum about 4 months ago. The idea behind it is simple. Not all of us are audio engineers. We wanted to have a place where people could upload their wav files and have someone else mix their song. <br /><br />In today's Internet Music world, you pretty much have to be a jack of all trades when it comes to home recording. Yes it is easy to lay down a couple of tracks and do a quick mix and post it up. However, we all know when listening to our favorite bands CD that there is so much more going on behind the scenes than just the bass, drums, keys, vocals and guitar tracks. Mixing and Mastering is an art form. There is a lot of high end audio equipment out there to help make a song sound pro. Not everyone has these tools or knows how to use them effectively. Just because someone hands you a scalpel, it does not make you a surgeon! So that is where this forum came from. <br /><br />In reading some of the reviews to songs out there, the one thing that is consistent is comments regarding the mix. Trust me I have been there before. I have listened to my "best" mix and then heard Floridamusic's mix and they sound like completely different songs. I guess this is the difference when someone who owned a recording studio mixes it versus someone who just started mixing in the last few years. <br /><br />We have had several people take advantage of this and they have been extremely impressed with the results. I am just surprised more people have not taken advantage of this. I do not know of any other site that is offering to mix people's songs for free. You may not like the new mix, but what do you have to lose? The only thing I can think of is the time it takes to upload the music. This process accomplishes a few things. The first being that you get to hear your song in a new light. The second being that the audio engineers get to work with different music and improve their skills. The third being that you have the ability to ask questions and learn how the mix was accomplished. <br /><br />We have retained our old site name and server so that people can upload all wav files to this address: http://www.guitaristworks.com/mix/ . The person mixing the song can retrieve the files from http://www.guitaristworks.com/mix/uploads/ . The directories get deleted regularly so grab the files asap. <br /><br />I wanted to remind people that this option is available. If you would like to experiment with a song, please post a message in the forum http://www.imusicscene.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=93. If everyone would do me a favor and if you do have a song remixed, post the original and the new version in your thread so people can hear the differences. You have nothing to lose. What are you waiting for? <br /><br />Also the Same Song Title Madness is next Saturday. Please visit the thread if you need more information! http://www.imusicscene.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=99 <br /><br />I am also going to post this message on the main iMS Page so people can comment if you so desire. <br /><br />Thanks for supporting iMS!<br />Dazed<br />

HOPE THIS MAKES YOU SMILE... "THE MOST FUNCTIONAL ENGLISH WORD.".. Well, it's **** . that's right, ****!
**** may just be the most functional word in the English language.
You can smoke ****, buy ****, sell ****, lose ****, find ****, forget ****,and tell others to eat ****.
Some people know their ****, while others can't tell the differencebetween **** and shineola.
There are lucky shits, dumb shits, and crazy shits. There is bull ****, horse ****, and chicken ****. You can throw ****, sling ****, catch ****, shoot the ****, or duck when the **** hits the fan.
You can give a **** or serve **** on a shingle.
You can find yourself in deep **** or be happier than a pig in ****.
Some days are colder than ****, some days are hotter than ****, and some days are just plain shitty.
Some music sounds ????...., things can look like ****, and there are times when you feel like ****.
You can have too much ****, not enough ****, the right ****, the wrong **** or a lot of weird ****.
You can carry ****, have a mountain of ****, or find yourself up **** creek without a paddle.
Sometimes everything you touch turns to **** and other times you fall in a bucket of **** and come out smelling like a rose.
When you stop to consider all the facts, it's the basic building block of the English language.
And remember, once you know your ****, you don't need to know anything else!!
You could pass this along, if you give a ****; or not do so if you don't give a ****!
Well, ****, it's time for me to go. Just wanted you to know that I do give a **** and hope you had a nice day, without a bunch of ****.
But, if you happened to catch a load of **** from some ****-head........... Well, **** Happens!!!
"wolf-wolf"
Just posted a new song.
Its called "Love is forever". Every now and then, I'll get caught in a moment, just peaceful and quiet, and she'll catch my eye. This is for her, my wife and soul mate.
Meaningful songs, kind of hard to hear those two words nowadays. I would not like to point out specific artists or songs, because I don't believe I have the right to judge their songs( who the **** am I anyway) but most of the bullshit that the MTV is feeding me with are catchy choruses, nice sometimes great vocals belting out lines that are so crappy that Gordon Ramsay would say " I wouldn't even serve it to a fucking dog".
Yes I have to admit that what I learned in the School of Music and Arts is that an attractive intro and a catchy chorus sells but for example...( damn i hate to do this but for explanation purposes) the song "Im blue da ba dee da ba da...bla bla bla". The key word is BLUE. The key phrase is I'M BLUE. If my english is correct, that means I'M SAD!!!. And we the got 2 cheeks of an **** singing it in a fucking happy tune. Yes catchy. Yes It sells thousands or even millions times more successful than my songs but what the ****. Are people to dumb enough to understand that it is stupid, meaningless and a whole bunch of crap. But wait maybe the song is trying to represent a creature who is colured blue...
My bad... sorry. But **** out. A blue creature!!! OH **** ME SENSELESS. That song is at most presentable on Sesame Street as a theme song for fucking cookie monster. But enough on my frustrations as I think i get my point straight. Now on techniques to write a meaningful song.
My basic technique to write a meaningful song is to start writing the lyrics 1st. Thats how i write songs actually,. And when you start writing lyrics, write the chorus 1st. the chorus is the most basic foundation to start your song. It is the success factor. If your chorus is ****, your song is ****. But before you start wrting lyrics you must get the idea first.
The idea which is what song are you going to write about. A love song, song a bout family, etc etc.
Once you get that, you brainstorm on the chorus. Remember music theories, melodies or tunes must not come in first. To give an example I will try to write a chorus out.
The idea : No Freedom
Chorus
Fear the bars that will trap you
the locks that will bound you
the chains that will tie you
from running away
From this place that wil haunt you
these signs that will taunt you
the darkness surrounds you
your freedom for pain
-Now by writing the chorus you have actually the base of a song. a place where you can refer to if you might write out of point. This part is most important because from this chorus you can then, start to compose your tune, set the rythm and tempo to fill the mood of the song. To make sure that the tune, the verses, intros and bridges actually are in sync with the chorus meanings. Important thing to remember what you wrote could be edited right after you get the tune for the chorus but it must still be of meaning to the idea and do not get drastically way out of that idea. REMEMBER A GOOD SONG IS WRITTEN, A GREAT SONG IS RE- WRITTEN.
I think that should be simple and basic enough for anyone to write meaningful songs and to top that the chorus I just written, I could just make a song out of it so listen out when it comes out. Cheers.
It's amazing how this network is reactive. I've put a song at 4 am, and by noon get 5 or6 comments !
It's a pleasure to ,review the others, too.
OK then, just got a comment from William. Appreciate it very much bro. So here is the deal for every comment I'm going to to wreck my brains and instead of writing songs, Ill be typing out blogs upon every comment.
Well the most interesting, unique and I guess what people would like to hear is maybe leading a soldier's life, a forced soldier's life I might add. Let me tell you guys a bit of history first. In World War II, my country was invaded by Japan. Back then we were a British Colony so we depended on the British Army to help us. Sadly they didn't do a good job and fled. So after the war was over and we gain independence, the national service was implemented which was to sent all boys at 18 years of age born in this country to be trained as soldiers for 2 years which is compulsory.
Now, here I am serving my term. To run away from this is either migrate when I was very young or pay a ridiculous sum of money so I think I might just get this **** done and over with. Just went through basic military training( commonly known as boot camp) and it was ****. Field camp was the most ****. 6 days in a jungle without bathing, eating combat ration( which looks like vomit), shitting in holes we have to dig and proning on places where others might have peed or **** upon. It was hell and barbaric.
I hate to find any positives in boot camp, because I have total disbelief in the system and theory of defending a small country who doesn't have any resources like water or oil. I believe anyone with a formidable airforce could carpet bomb this place to pieces in a day. Sad to say if there was a war, I would take my family and run away from this place. there is just no good enough reason that my country might survive.
You might think that I hate my country but I don't. i love this place. I don't know why but I just fucking love this place. But sad to say this place I love can never be defended if there were to be a full scale war. And that was brutal honesty.
I've had several folks ask me to announce when my new CD was availlable at CD Baby. Well, it's up now! YAY!
