Well, my second live performance since getting back into it went pretty well I guess, and I give the praise to my King. But I can now see that if you're going to do a coffee house venue, it should be with a soft, quiet acoustic type music that is kind of more in the background rather than up front and loud. People are there to chat and socialize, along with listening to a little music between conversation. That's just the nature of a coffee house setting I guess; at least most of them.
The event wasn't promoted, so basically the only people that showed up were the ones who's kids were practicing for a Christmas presentation in the church next door. Thank God for the childrens practice!! By the time I was getting to my last two or three songs, everyone was already filing out to go get their kids since practice was over. I sang the last song to my wife and the two attendants behind the coffee bar!! Believe me, it can be pretty disheartening to watch everyone slowly disappear before your set is even complete!
I kept getting the feeling I should bring my own equipment, but I ignored it and used the existing sound system.........Oh when will I learn to listen to the guidance of His Spirit!! The speakers were spread far enough apart that I needed a monitor to stay in time with the backing tracks. Well, for some reason the monitor was either so quiet I couldn't hear it, or it was so loud that I couldn't hear myself!! Needless to say, when it was down at one of it's low volume levels, I got out of time on one of my songs and couldn't find my way back until a break between verses. The old nerve level really skyrocketed after that. But, now for a highlight; I didn't forget a single line out of 12 songs......HALLELUJAH!!
Performing live can present many opportunities to get frustrated and discouraged, but I have decided to ignore the lies of that mangy old devil and to learn and grow from these times rather than let them get me down. I do think, however, that I will stick to performing in churches and at events in the future. But first I will take some time to seek Him and His will for the future and remind myself that I am a child of the Most High God and that alll things work for the good of those that are called according to His purpose.

A dream is dying …
Many years ago, I recorded my first self-penned tunes – all three of them – and I felt I was on my way to somewhere. Quickly, I added two more and thought I had made some substantial inroads to the music publishers of the world. I made a firm and solemn vow to sign my first substantial royalty check over to my dad, “the man who brought me up and never let me down,” as I told him in a song I wrote for him. He has worked six to seven days a week almost from birth, and he was still roofing earlier this year as he turned 87. In the meantime, I’ve managed to register over 300 recordings with BMI without ever placing even one of them with a major label artist. As the clock began ticking more and more loudly for both of us, I put it into a higher gear and tried every avenue available to get a song placed. Just one example – I probably cover Taxi’s payroll with my submissions (I’ve had forwards, but no contracts). My seventh solo album is off for mastering, and I have three other albums of my songs out there (done by Kephas, King Arthur, and Bret Alexander). Not one album has reached double digits in sales.

A dream is dying …

On Thursday (November 6), my father suffered a stroke that triggered massive bleeding in his brain. He is on life support in a coma, and his chances of surviving lessen with each passing hour. This morning (November 8), my mom suffered a stroke and is in stable but mostly unresponsive condition at a different hospital an hour and a half from my dad in Pennsylvania.

A dream is dying …

Last night was an amazing night on Mix Radio. Mike presented Brian Futch in the Center Stage Presentation. The Chat room was packed, I think we hit some all time high numbers and the mood was electrifying.

Aside from the fantastic music that was played before and after the CSP, Brian Futch's CSP stole the show. WildHoneyPie delivered an intro that would make most celebrities jealous. Once Brian stepped up to the mic, it was a special treat. Brian is just an amazing songwriter and musician. If you missed the show last night, listen to the rebroadcast and you will see why this was remarkable. Mike has the rebroadcast links posted below in his blog.

Mike thanks for a great show! WHP awesome intro and Brian, thanks for presenting us with a jaw dropping experience!

Dazed

Why? Because the music in this presentation encompasses the ability to bring forth many emotions in terms of our planet, it's inhabitants and ultimately, a want for peace to prevail.

Enjoy, and please, any feedback would be welcomed by myself, the artists and the world at large.

Peace,

Paul

Player track 1 includes;

1.
Leonardo Taglialavore Why Can't There Be Peace ? 5:19
Copyright L & L Taglialavore 2006
www. soundclick. com/leonardotaglialavore

Vocals provided by our friends:
Bob Lucas
Jude Grover
Gary and Maria of soundclicks "ARTYTOU"
Sooty AKA Mark Sutton of soundclicks "EARTHSCRY"
Mr.
Karl Noonan of soundclicks "KARL NOONAN"
Robert and Patti Boucher
Marlon Kempmann of soundclicks "DOCTOR MEMORY"
Jim Rustemeyer of soundclicks "Artificial Earth"
Skootch Taglialavore (our cat)
Lisa and Leonardo Taglialavore

2.
Gill Whitehurst Peace 4:17
Copyright Gill Whitehurst 2002
www. morgenblumemusic. net

Gill Whitehurst: Acoustic guitar and vocals
Sheila Rigg: Backing vocals

3.
David Elias The Blue Planet 3:49
Copyright 1998 David Elias
www. davidelias. com

Player track 2 includes;

4.
Artytou Why? 5:00
Copyright 2006 Words:N.
Potter Music:Rogers&Craige
www. artytou. co. uk

5.
