Is it just the one song ? or is all my timing out.. its hard when you just record at home.. so I dunno..
I do like to use delay's and whah n stuff, maybe less delay or re arange the drums some how..
dunno..???? and how the heck do I make this text bigger..
adding to the mix...
timing is like tuning. if either is out, your song sounds bad.
I have to ask, do you add effects to your guitar after you record? I have seen delay added to a track and it will shift the timing off something fierce. Try playing to a track dry. Just the drum loop and a clean guitar. Is your timing ok?
The main thing is, you have to be able to tell if you are in time or not. If you can't tell, you are going to get very frustrated.
thanks guys... I do agree that it is my music, sometimes the songs work and other times they dont..
and I use wav drum tracks cause I dont have a drummer, and I've only been playing bass for about a year, when I'm with a band I have no problems, but this home recording stuff is different for me so its a learning in process for me.. thanks for all the input guys..
OK !!!
HAS ANYONE OTHER THAN ME EVEN LISTENED TO THE SONG IN QUESTION ????????
GO LISTEN TO "ANOTHER TIME,ANOTHER PLACE", AND IF YOU THINK THE WAY THE TIMING IS OFF IN THIS SONG IS "ARTISTIC",THEN BROTHER,YOU'VE GOT PROBLEMS OF YOUR OWN.
THIS ISN'T ABOUT A MATTER OF PERSONAL TASTE,THE MAN ASKED A LEGITIMATE QUESTION BECAUSE EVEN HE KNOWS THE TIMING IS OFF AND JUMPS ALL OVER THE PLACE.
I WISH PEOPLE WOULD READ A WHOLE CONVERSATION,( or at least comprehend what they read), BEFORE BLINDLY MAKING STATEMENTS,AND WHEN THEY DO MAKE A STATEMENT,MAKE IT COHERENT SO PEOPLE WILL UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO SAY,(if anything).
Hey Dicarlo,
You're speaking Greek to this cat,
trust me.
Don't say I didn't tell you.......
EXCUSE ME, THAT WAS "THROW YOUR TRACKS OF TIME"!!!!!! LOL
