The name evolved from my thought that all rock & roll has its roots in the blues, and the basic theme of the blues is...that’s right, a Sob Story.I have been a performing musician for over twenty five years; I got my start in the era of DIY punk rock and spent many years working in record shops in the days of the LP. I grew up with my ear turned to the sounds of punk, new wave, metal, and speed core. I formed my first band in the early 80's (Vivisection) we opened for bands like Soundgarden and Mother Love Bone. Vivisection played many a gig in Seattle during the "grunge" era and we had the great honor of sharing the stage with so many great talents, we recorded our first demo at Reciprocal Studios with Chris Hansick who recorded bands like The Melvins and Nirvana. Our first recording engineer was Chris Cornell. After Vivisection disbanded I absorbed as much blues and blues metal music as I could and broke out of a shell and found my voice. I then formed the band Poor Room with my two very talented brothers, Don and Evan Elliott. We played the Seattle bars and made a very strong go as local touring musicians. We found ourselves going in different directions and disbanded in the early 90's. By the end of the 90's into early 2000 I found myself as the frontman for the band Spoonbender. With major label interest we found ourselves working hard and writing great songs. We lost our drummer and went off to do other projects. Over the last few years I have found myself in the studio working on a solo project that I call Martin Elliott's Sob Story, I play shows in the Pacific Northwest where I live with my dream girl and our family. I play what ever style the song may lead me and I look forward to my time on mixposure meeting new artists and doing some possible collaborating on new projects.

I have recently founded OverLooked Records an Indie record label looking to promote new artists through genre spacific and mix genre compilation CDs look for more information on OverLooked Records....remember some of the best artists are OverLooked.

For more information about OverLooked Records or Martin Elliott's Sob Story feel free to contact me.
