CSP - SNR Center Stage Presentation 09-20-2008

OKAY!!! Nobody had any guesses as to this next Artist up for the Mix Radio Center Stage Presentation... oh well, not even close, really! Enough guessing: our next Mix Radio Center Stage Presentation is: <a href="http://www.mixposure.com/Henry_Harrington/">Henry Harrington</a> Folks, all I can tell you about this guy is that he's got an amazing style of acoustic guitar playing and is definitely one of the best lyricists out there. Always addressing social issues in the ways that make you think about what's is happening in the world. Well, at least the song selection for this particular CSP proves that little fact. Music for thought, but also VERY entertaining music. It's really a treat, believe me! Henry indicates some of his influences to be: Neil Young, Bruce Cockburn, Uncle Tupelo, Jeff Tweety, Stephen Stills - oh yeah! It shows, too! But, I sincerely believe that Henry Harrington has developed his own unique style and is up there with those guys he's mentioning. <a href="http://www.mixposure.com/avalanche/">Avalanche</a>, and the founder of the band Avalanche Mike Foster, just blew away myself, the listeners and the folks in the live chat with this Center Stage Presentation! Folks, it just doesn't get any better than this, does it? To really learn about a band that has a 30 plus year history is just really amazing. When you invite a band of this caliber with that much history, you simply cannot limit them to a 5 minute narrative each inbetween sets! IMPOSSIBLE! So, that's why this one was 52 minutes long and every second of it was entertaining!! I've made it an hour, playing their track "The Road Less Travelled" - the anniversary tune of Avalanche, celebrating not only that they are keeping Classic Rock alive with their own distinctive sound, but also what matters most: friendship!!! CSP - SNR Center Stage Presentation 09-13-2008

OKAY!!! The guesses were pouring in furiously in our Mix Radio DJ's Corner Forum and a couple of them were in the running for the winner. Who actually did it with his FIRST guess in his FIRST post??? Well, <a href="http://www.mixposure.com/rwk/">ReaperSG</a> did!!! Heinz, from <a href="http://www.mixposure.com/blue_sahara/">Blue Sahara</a>, actually had a few picks that were good! One of them will be featured at the end of this month!!! So, way to go, guys! Enough guessing: our next Mix Radio Center Stage Presentation is: <a href="http://www.mixposure.com/Rob_Grant/">Rob Gant</a> Rob has been into music for a LONG time, so he has some stories to tell for sure! Rob has overcome some health problems not too long ago, which he says (and I losely quote the man): "All of your support has helped me pull through this". Indeed, the support for Rob in many artist communities was overwhelming! Rob, glad you're here to joy us with your presence and talent!!! Rob describes his influences to be: Beatles, Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd, Pendragon, Jazz-Rock Fusion, Jeff Beck, Paul McCartney, Chris Squire, Gentle Giant... WOW - some great company there!
