Thanks so much for your thoughtful response, and yes, you definitely described the process and intent of the song very well.
Lovely words/vocals...the sparce backing music lets them shine. I'm not saying the music is lacking because it's not. The stuccato acoustic guitar strumming works very well at drawing me in. The synth/keys are subdued but give the song a sad but healing vibe. Nicely done to all involved!
