Good vocal on top of the piano.....the synth coming in as an accent sounds very rich. The vocal melody and timing gives the song a uniqueness because it counters the piano chords and it carries the tempo....a very well done ballad!

This has got to be one of the prettiest songs I've heard in quite a while. You speak of such lovely love, enduring for all ages. You've clearly dedicated the lyrics to adoration of one who has gotten inside, way down deep inside. I love this as I love love with all its pitfalls and heartaches, for me it is worth the pain we must endure to have just a few moments that last 1000 years.

Desperate is excellent. Musically/lyrically and the vocals really shine. Reminds me of Spooky Tooth meets Bryan Adams. Drums, guitar work excel and I think the vocals are the real carrier here as they are so well done. Great collab guys.

Wonderful story telling, great vocals - very strong track. I really like the dynamics vocal, gives it a nice emotional accent to the story line. Very polished production, experience pays nice dividends when you have two people who really understand recording collaborating. Every touch is purposeful and set just right in the mix.

Dazed and Bri-an, I like this one cause the emotional vocals are right there in front hangin out on your sleeves so to speak... fitting for a desparate man.... nice opening acoustic amd then the drivng chords, and support drums/bass/keys ... plus the chorus has the needed energy dudes! My favorite line is "put the money in the bag"

That quiet desperation of the unknown millions,living complex lives with circumstances they don't always control.
They needed a song,and this one should suffice.

I don't like to do plug my own tunes when I am commenting, but this song is similar to my tune "Hand it Over" in such a cool way - my tune tells the story from the view of the very first time, and this one tells it later down the line. They're both told through the eyes of the family man. You guys did a great job of making this work. It is a heart-heavy song, and the music is excellent to carry the story. Very cool guys!!!

Better late than never...this song is a great one on several different levels. Certainly just the music is quite compelling all on it's own. The mixture of instruments and tones is perfect. The changes are really nice hooks and draw you into the track. I'm diggin the keyboard add in the second movement, nice touch. Brians a great drummer and really adds to the live feel of this. Very professional sounding song! There is however a bit of sidechaining going on where the guitar and drums overlap each other in sound - not sure if you intended that to happen or not..

I took the time to listen to the demo version first before writing this review and I have to say this version has really progressed from the demo. The guitar fits in tight with the vox and drums. Vox are great and writing is superb!

From memory, in my review of the earlier version I mentioned some slight clashing between the drums and the electric Rhythm guitar which I thought were distracting for the clear brilliance of the song itself. Bri-an's drums are just right to my ears. The guitar and drums are now perfectly in synch and the use of the strings operates to turn the spotlight onto that sensation chorus section. Wow, this song is now shining bright. Great piece of work. Love it.

Oh yeah! Now I know why this track has 60+ reviews. Gotta have 600 if you ask me. One of the best compositions I've heard here. Every little touch is pure class. Scintillating number. I had a Fantom a few years back but never thought one could sound like this. Those brass stabs rock! And that organ... perfection!!!!

Excellent choice of collaborators, Larry. Christer adds real dimension to this track with his playing but doesn't try to take it away from you. I hear the Steely Dan thang!! everytime i hear it...My love for this gernre of music automatically gets me movin..both physically and mentally..Chrickon's injection again is done with some incredible foresight for the piece...and lifts this already fine work to levels of excellence....

This is excellent, reads through a couple of reviews and can see where this came from. I was gonna say that this very much reminds me of the Beck/Hammer compositions from the Wired and Blow by Blow albums. I have not had as much fun listening to a bit of jazz in ages cracking piece well done

The only thing I don't agree is with the 70's paradigm. Music is timeless... Specially compositions like this one, with a lot of bebop feel in it... If I would have to set an era or time frame I would place this great performance in the 2012, the renaissance of good music, as it is arriving!!!!!

I just love this groove.. and your tone puncutates everything just perfect. The one thing i notice most about your playing.. is the space you leave intbetween notes and phrases.. it really makes the notes you do play come across with more depth and power.. I did enjoy the tones you used on this.. from raw blusy strat like tones.. to smoother EJ type tones...Great stuff indeed Donna

Man this is sure a change of pace from Sex and Love and Rock and Roll that I heard yesterday. This is a beautifully "chill" piece of jazz funk. Lovely progressions and sweet sweet melody. Loved your playing on this one. Sweet work indeed.

this was a first attempt to capture the 70's feel of beck and fusion when i wrote this. i wrote all the drums and bass and keys for the song. the drummer had the most problems because it was hard for him to hear the crazy in and out of timing. but it worked and it turned out lovely. it is dedicated to my mother who was from that time. her name was Faith.

Love this funk...Great bass & percussion movin' it 7 that ain't all...you're so good at making me get up and move...shake it don't break it Larry, FAB tune right off the start...has a bit of Stevie Wonder I felt...but t's all you (I guess cause my son has been doing Stevie's melodies on bass) Anyhow love the progression, lovely organ, great keys just cascade so well along with the neat harp additions. Gotta love this as a fave tune...in it goes. All instruments are in perfect placement. Love the horn synth sounds. I started on acoustic and added the electric guitar to my skills 1998. i took my classical training and transposed it to the electric. was a big challenge for me i have only just recently the past few years have been able to feel good about the transition.

This song has such a refined electric sound, reminding Chet Atkins in pure romantic soul with a country feel, which is remarkable because of the extreme versatility Donna has!

thanks. i have a 1965 MCcoy that a guy sold me in dallas a few years back he was the original owner and when i pluged it in i was zapped with the voodoo spell. i had never used a wah before then. thanks for the kudos

Just want to thank everyone of you for your kind comments ! appreciate it very much. Wasn`t the easiest track to work with all those voices telling me "come on" was at moments starting to get me on my nerves LOL, but it was a real pleasure to work with this funky and great sounding track.

Absolutely marvelous! I'm speechless. Yes, the lead guitar is stellar but I'm more impressed by everything else. The accompaniment is an instrumentalist's dream, so damn classy and elegant. Real magic!

LT, great vibe on this song. Great playing and intelligent arrangement ....it DOES hold interest which sometimes can be a difficult matter on instrumentals. Such high quality stuff and catchy that it's umm, ear candy to say the least. And kudos to Christer's most excellent guitar work! ~Blake

made in the shade.. tasty larry carlton style.. the distortion tone on the guitar is awesome..
great feel and easy going playing my brother.. isn't this the track you sent me too larry? in Fm?.. I recognize the vox samples.. I could imagine adding vocals to this but with my man C on it.. it doesn't need anything more.. it soars.. doesn't bore.. listen though.. I got a new one with you too.. and I paid my dues.. so please recognize my guitar chops crew.. rapster ain't just words.. he's fingers and master of jazz lines too.. cheers my brothers.. this was awesome!

Nice electro mix Frank. The repeating harmony guitar riff is trance inducing but pulls me out of it when you begin to add the additional scales. Very relaxing and easy on the ears. It fits with the rainy day here. Enjoyed it.

Well this is pleasant enough but it is not in another universe compared to the other electronic material on Mix but the number of listens would suggest otherwise. For all those who listen to this try the other excellent electronic material here. This does not sound like a demo, clear professional recording for a tune that builds around an ambient 4 chord sequence and it is quite engaging. ftlpope
