Good vocal on top of the piano.....the synth coming in as an accent sounds very rich. The vocal melody and timing gives the song a uniqueness because it counters the piano chords and it carries the tempo....a very well done ballad!

You've clearly dedicated the lyrics to adoration of one who has gotten inside, way down deep inside. Desperate is excellent. Musically/lyrically and the vocals really shine. Reminds me of Spooky Tooth meets Bryan Adams. Drums, guitar work excel and I think the vocals are the real carrier here as they are so well done. Great collab guys.

Wonderful story telling, great vocals - very strong track. I really like the dynamics vocal, gives it a nice emotional accent to the story line. Very polished production, experience pays nice dividends when you have two people who really understand recording collaborating. Every touch is purposeful and set just right in the mix.

Dazed and Bri-an, I like this one cause the emotional vocals are right there in front hangin out on your sleeves so to speak... fitting for a desparate man.... nice opening acoustic amd then the drivng chords, and support drums/bass/keys ... plus the chorus has the needed energy dudes! My favorite line is "put the money in the bag"

I don't like to do plug my own tunes when I am commenting, but this song is similar to my tune "Hand it Over" in such a cool way - my tune tells the story from the view of the very first time, and this one tells it later down the line. You really have an original voice. I only need to hear a couple of words and I know it's you. Like the arrangement on this song. The lyrics really capture the desperation of the situation and it comes through in your vocal delivery. The other Bri-an(ha) did a great job on whatever changes he made.

Better late than never...this song is a great one on several different levels. Certainly just the music is quite compelling all on it's own. The mixture of instruments and tones is perfect. The playing all around is great. But then add in the vocals and wow...one terrific layer on top of the first! Dazed...superb vocal delivery, great vox and lyrics. The changes are really nice hooks and draw you into the track. I'm diggin the keyboard add in the second movement, nice touch. Brians a great drummer and really adds to the live feel of this. I took the time to listen to the demo version first before writing this review and I have to say this version has really progressed from the demo. The guitar fits in tight with the vox and drums. Vox are great and writing is superb!

From memory, in my review of the earlier version I mentioned some slight clashing between the drums and the electric Rhythm guitar which I thought were distracting for the clear brilliance of the song itself. Bri-an's drums are just right to my ears. The guitar and drums are now perfectly in synch and the use of the strings operates to turn the spotlight onto that sensation chorus section. Wow, this song is now shining bright. Great piece of work. Love it.

This is just as enjoyable of a listen now as it was then! Larry T, that B3 and Leslie sounds fantastic with you at the controls and Chrickon's guitar is singing and howling at the moon. Oh yeah! Now I know why this track has 60+ reviews. Gotta have 600 if you ask me. One of the best compositions I've heard here. Every little touch is pure class. Scintillating number. I had a Fantom a few years back but never thought one could sound like this. Those brass stabs rock! And that organ... perfection!!!!

Excellent choice of collaborators, Larry. Christer adds real dimension to this track with his playing but doesn't try to take it away from you. Just excellent keyboard, drums, bass and the song has such a energetic and exciiting feel to it (maybe it's that huge crowd you played for that night)....some great setting up for Christer's very tasty leads. I hear the Steely Dan thang!! everytime i hear it...My love for this gernre of music automatically gets me movin..both physically and mentally..Chrickon's injection again is done with some incredible foresight for the piece...and lifts this already fine work to levels of excellence....
A standout for me is the use of the drums used..( B.T. or a loop) they refine this project ..and are honed perfectly with the frequencies swimming around..spot on ears! The energy level is matched all around.(and besides...it's my style of playing..lol)

The only thing I don't agree is with the 70's paradigm. Music is timeless... Specially compositions like this one, with a lot of bebop feel in it... If I would have to set an era or time frame I would place this great performance in the 2012, the renaissance of good music, as it is arriving!!!!!

this was a first attempt to capture the 70's feel of beck and fusion when i wrote this. i wrote all the drums and bass and keys for the song. the drummer had the most problems because it was hard for him to hear the crazy in and out of timing. but it worked and it turned out lovely. it is dedicated to my mother who was from that time. her name was Faith.

hi,
I started on acoustic and added the electric guitar to my skills 1998. i took my classical training and transposed it to the electric. was a big challenge for me i have only just recently the past few years have been able to feel good about the transition.

thanks. i have a 1965 MCcoy that a guy sold me in dallas a few years back he was the original owner and when i pluged it in i was zapped with the voodoo spell. i had never used a wah before then. thanks for the kudos

Could use an occasional drum fill - a bit too hypnotic. I like the harmonized outtro guitars in the background, but I'd clean it up a bit more making the riff combo more distinct. Also, it is a strong enough support riff to be repeated throughout the piece. Was that change-up cram at 2:27 intentional? Overall, pretty cool.

Hey this grabbed from the get go. Beautifully structured composition. Gorgeous playing throughout. Has a Steely Dan feel to me without vocals. The tones of the various guitars complement each other perfectly. Great production as well. Gotta give this an "excellent". Top notch track.

The bassline and beat are indeed very serene and systematic. And the bluesy guitar has the task to dwell the listensers with the eccentric passion, I like this lead. A mix of moods in its finest path like roaming around the happy hours, swinging from one lady to another. Lovely stuff.

Just want to thank everyone of you for your kind comments ! appreciate it very much. Wasn`t the easiest track to work with all those voices telling me "come on" was at moments starting to get me on my nerves LOL, but it was a real pleasure to work with this funky and great sounding track.

Well this is pleasant enough but it is not in another universe compared to the other electronic material on Mix but the number of listens would suggest otherwise. For all those who listen to this try the other excellent electronic material here. This does not sound like a demo, clear professional recording for a tune that builds around an ambient 4 chord sequence and it is quite engaging. ftlpope
