I actually started off singing an octave lower, but didn't like the vibe, and re-did it up there. Darn good thing it wasn't any higher or I'd have had to re-record everything at a lower pitch. (That'll teach me to do the vox last ....

Super. Captivating from the opening guitar to the lyrics. I'm gonna shut up and drown in this excpetional tune.
Absolutely superb piece of writing Lex. Perfectly weighted lyrics get a strong and powerful message across without hitting us on the head with a hammer. Not a word out of place. Top craftsmandship. Brett's voice is absolutely perfect for this track. Superb delivery of sensational lyrics. Just a perfect balance of vocals guitar, lyrics and melody. This is certainly one to pitch in my view. It's too bad the priorities of those in power are not the true priorities of the people they are supposed to be serving. So much water ! Excellent roots stuff, very sensible too. I love the close prod. I saw a little video of Alex Chilton, singing with the guitar while walking in his "garden" in New Orleans : very emotionnal. I've been there before the Flood : love to everybody there.
