a beautiful song that touches my heart as so many of your songs do...
For what seems like a long time, I have loved the harmonies of your songs, but, especially your voice....ditto to what all...

Great when a collab works out so well. Both parties bring complementary skills to the max here. Congrats.

Missed this one before guys. Glad I caught it now cause in spite of that this is a real gem. And well worth the visit. Excellent piece well done
i had some old 78's when i was a kid. this sounds exactly like the mississippi delta blues i heard 50 years ago. love the sound.
Great job of putting your own style on this classic! Some good performances there, but sounds like it was recorded with a single mic in a room (?). Would love to hear a cleaner recording so I could hear those excellent parts better, but you guys definitely know yer bluze!
brothers in blues indeed!! damn authentic stuff-wow takes me way way back when blues was soooh true blues--what a vibe--im stomping my foot and heading to the bar for a beer--damn cool work vesa and eric!! congrats fellas!! mark
Now, that was fun It sure sounds like you guys had a lot of fun playing this together. And man, that slide is just out of this world ...
Congrats on this collab guys!
Heinz.
Thanks so much for all the reviews. Great comments. It's a concept, like some you've seen before with other musicians getting together, esp. when no one wants to be fron and centre. It's open to anyone really, to play with Hooker & I or one or the other.
Again Nigel did no mixing. I did. He took out the hisses, that's it.
No reverb, or other sounds were his idea or addition; those were Hooker & my concept-to sound like a late 50's Elmore sound/feel like in a club. Kool then. Bluze on. Much appreciated. -Vesa.
TOTALY FABULOUS !!! Hooker and Vesa!... and yes ELMORE JAMES LIVES!
my word.... gentlemen! i sat godsmacked by this tune! if you would have included some pops and crackles like in the vinyl of the day.. i would have sworn this was a recording from that beautiful era!!
Hooker you have that Elmore tone NAILED and the delivery is so amazing
Both you guys did some amazing things here... thank you for this.. its refreshing and it has inspired me
I must thank Hooker for doing a song style I suggested, and he blew me away. I want to mention, Nigel, as he said, did not mix it; I was the one as well as Hooker putting up the 'reverb' (can say it's a pub sound) but he did as he said -Removed the original hisses -"the noise floor" sounds. Nigel, no tonal aspects are amiss, -anything came from our end that we did to not get in tone was our issue; Nigel had done well primarily removing that hissing. I like the tone.
If it was a separate two tracks it would maybe have been easier of course.
I guess I was somewhat rushing it after many takes, so as not to over-ride Hookers' vocal especially. Otherwise, My excuse is , I like that late 50's club 'hall' sound. Dig it. Thank you all.
yes this is cool, reminds of my time in South Carolina. Definately captured something special, the piano is perfect with Hookers sound and style. Maybe a bit of refining makes it shine even more. Great pairing!!
Good to see you guys working together.
Well,I think once again perhaps all we have here is the capturing of an idea.
Let me clear up a misunderstanding.
I did NOT mix this.
Vesa sent me the track to have the noise floor removed and an attemopt at re-equing.
I did not mix or apply any additional reverb.
I apologise for any tonal aspects that maybe awry.
But as I said at the start,I think of this as an idea for a later recording,a caopturi8ng of a momment on two continents.
Sorry if this seems like a negative view, butr honesty is important to me
Main thing is,that momment got caught, and I truly believe it is the basis for a reworking.
I would be happy to mix this IF the seperate parts still exist without fx on them.
Nigel.
Really dig the intro ,slide work is outstanding ,the vocals relate the feeling of this song with great results...:-)Nice collab guys !!!

guys i've tried both headphones but i don't understand this mix.. margot was putting it more than mildly about the verb.. lol.. if it was supposed to give this an old live in a shack by the delta feel to it (remember the bar in the color purple?) then maybe you've succeeded.. but it sounds like coming through a string tied between two cans to me brothers.. sounded like some good slide and vocals going on and some nice tinkly piano - but i couldn't swear to it.. lol.. well let's just see what the other reviewers will have to say.. congrats on the collab and new band page.. look forward to better mixes down the road.. cheers boys..
Wow, now this sounds as though it has a lot of reverb here..There`s some great slide playing.....The Singing as always is a pleasure to hear...
it`s so cool for people to get together and collab...
peace n love mags
Thanks folks for all the kind remarks, comments, reviews, ideas -very kool; it's a fun concept.
Nice change to make room for other musicians to come on too whenever-just give a mail if you have a creative composition. Hooker and I don't exist as the limit to this -more brothers/sisters are welcome to get there blues out through 'Brothers in Bues'. Like to have some sax and a singer...or just a rye and soda for now .lol
-Vesa. Thanks for Hooker taking on my Elmore James idea. Works for me.
Ooooh yeah...this is blues from the soul.
Great guitar sliding. Well playded keyboards there.
Well done Hooker and Vesa, I really love it.
