The way you layer up all the instrumentation and the harmonies behind you main vocal makes it so easy to love this song.

I Love the clarity and sheer depth of this piece Rich. The pain of someone disappearing out of you life never really goes away the melancholy sticks around like a lonely ghost.

very cool post modern rage. killer melody and arrangement. great sound production.
love it!! david can compose better than many i hear.. i try to keep up with all you guys do but you're so prolific.. 4 heads (here 5) are truly better than one.. plus so many live not virtual instruments.. can't be beat.. this is so catchy it's unbelievable.. doc your organ solo is awesome.. pulled out all the stops so to speak.. love the synths in this too and the wah wah guitar parts.. bass is superb rob.. where's that funky bass collab you've promised me for years? lol.. lovely solo with killer tone gary.. long time no see bro.. that is one passionate and lyrical solo not to mention HOT.. this just too good guys.. i'm turning in my picks.. grabbing a DL too cause i'll want this for a rainy day on my ipod.. and it rains here in switzerworld a lot!! cheers fellas
Wonderful song guys. From the very ducky beggining to the proggy feel once Gary kicks in the lead to the quacky end. Great playing everywhere and everyone. Expressive synth and organ by Doc. Reggae-ish bass by Rob works beautifully. And Gary's guitars add significant spice. Wonderful guys! ~Blake
Priceless....this is just sensational. Despite the reggae-ish feel, I could see this being the soundtrack to a French movie. Daniel Arteuil, or Gerard Depardieu (both arguably ugly ducklings) scoring with some gorgeous looking Gallic princess. Like Bri-an I can hear the duck quacking and, Doc, you've done some absolutely superlative synth work on this. The change into Gary's solo and back out again are just beyond belief. This is just wonderful. Added to favs.
ohhhh......smooth........professional, sassy as they come...Love this..A fantastic musical bed....There`s nothing ugly about this.....I`m yet to see an "Ugly Duckling" they`re all gorgeous...
Peace n Love Mags xx
A very unusual piece for you guys...
Nice vibe and that Moog of Doc's sings so sweet...
Great title by the way, fits the songs's ambiance.
Very nice and solid bass work Rob.
The hammond is always a fav of mine, and Doc is a master at it.
Gary prooving yet again that there isn't a style he cannot play as well.
Cracking, scorching lead, and the double up on drums and bass worked so well to make that lift.
Suddenly we go from reggae to full on progrock, epic and striding.
Another cracking song guys.
Nigel.
What a really great genre crossover between reggae, jazz, and rock fusion.
Loved the organ and then the change of energy with the guitar. great use of pans and just an all around superior reproduction. Super !!!!!!!!!
Doc
Clean and clear, with a nice laidback groove. A touch of reggae influence. Nice modulation on the keys. I like the wide stereo sound, and how the percussion is panned. Bass sounds nice and fat. great keys playing. I like the fast runs. slooooooooow build. great alternate panning. and the guitar? wow. This song is far from ugly. great collaboration!

Sounds Great to me.......All instruments are kickin'......Rob mentioned the bass on my tunes.......hopefully when i release this 3rd CD my bass will sound that good.......I'm gonna have the guys in California raise everything to pro levels when i have the duplication done...I have to comment on the Guitar.love the tone .ect.reminds me of Journey.....Great piece ,Dudes.......I'll be back for more........
Great job guys! A great listen and catchy tune! KB
Excellent production and performance by all. It felt like a sort of somber raggae reminiscent of Bobby Caldwell. You guys work really well together. Very nicely done.
I love a song with freshness and creativity. Something born from somewhere outside the box. This is that type of song. The individual parts are fairly simple, but come together in such a cohesive way to create a nice musical tapestry. Love this one a lot -- and I love the production.
Nice work on this song Doc, Gary, and Rob! It's got this quirky, ugly duckling reggae type rhythm bouncing along that makes the song infectious. In a way that I want to hear more to see where it's headed, because I know it's headed to a climax somewhere. Ahhhh.....there it is in Gary's guitar solo. Love the multi-keys and the big bass presence. Very good production guys!
Farrell
Immaculate production and performances! Yeah, once again I just really love those synth patches! Congrats! You guys are on to something here!
as this track commenced, i was hugely satisfied to be met with a reggeaish groove. This struck me as tremendously fresh. Beyond that, i am seriously amazed by the boundless musicianship and production.
I am drivin with alot of excitement by the Bass guitar. This sis seriously well placed - first the playing and combined with the overall production make this an ever so clear and comforting bass guitar.
I really also like the mono synth singing it's part,, and the choice of the soft arp, the whistle kind of sound,, is so sweet to hear.
These points ive stated so far , are pure fact! - im not sloshing out pretty painted compliments- if something seems amiss in this production, i would bring that into my comments - but over all, and in every detail my reaction is that this is pure perfect solid music of exqusite quality- delivering fulfillment to those who hear it.
Now one massive kik this track comes at --- but before that comes, i have to say that i was really enamoured with the organ dancing all through about 2.00 and on .
Now at 3.04,, i am not trying to be poetic on purpose, but it's like this track unleashes a secret dynamite weapon. Gary's guitar comes in and , wow , it has impact. One thing that i think hugely enhanced that , is the almost strange way that there was no sign or hint of that guitar all the way before this point.
I'm saying this is a great thing . intentional or not. it's worth keeping it that way.
im glad for the chance to hear it and have it,,, is it downloadable ?? i'll check
shane
Great tune, the ugly duckling takes a waddle, and you captured the oddness in a most interesting/original and progressive way. I just love how the song builds when Gary comes in! The synth lines are perfect, as are the bass and drums. This is really cool, creative music! I can even hear the synth quacking! Thanks for sharing the gem.
