Yeah Rob....diggin the change/groove @2.24 and mtron choir. A Floyd/Moody Blues/Stones feel to it infused with dark matter. Well conceived and def an enjoyable song. Good job on this! You've got some great ideas and moments in here. Perhaps this one snaps the drought!?! ..b

Have to say I don't often respond to mail requests, but exceptions can be made. Dunno about a dry spell Rob, I tend to look at them as creative breaks lol. This mate, was well worth the wait. You crafted yourself a super piece of music. I loved the mood and the themes mesh together really well. Great work and an enjoyable listen. Welcome back from your creative holiday.
All the best

Dry spell? What is a "dry spell"? LOL! Seriously, this is a cool track with some very nice guitar work. I really like the contemplative and introspective themes. It's a shame you don't have a real mellotron, you're the most dedicated proponent of the instrument I've ever know Good job! Just turn those drums up a little bit...
10/31/10 11:02:05AM @farrell-jackson:
Happy Halloween to you Rob! It's good to hear you play some guitar. Chill or be Chilled goes well with this chillie willie Calif. morning. Just don't let DrC hear those strings, he he.....good songwriting. I think your dry spell is broken with this great listen!

Awesome...pads....and ambience..for the intro. !! Bring the opening up...just a bit....it's great. Stellar tones on the guitar work.... bravo..!! Of course the bass...is the glue..that gives this track strength. !! The production, creativity and musicianship...are fabulous..., my friend!!

11/02/10 10:11:20AM @brian-mattson:

Hi Rob,
I have not been on the mix lately but saw your email about the end of your dry spell and I must say indeed it is.
Musically very solid in all directions. Your bass playing is something I always enjoy but that aside some nice lead work here happening. Certainly catches a mood and I think I am being chilled. Nice work Rob. Sorry for the delay in responding just havent been on here. Great way to come back!
10/31/10 11:14:50PM @david-c-deal:
Great to hear a new one from you Rob, the waves miss your spice in the indie stew. Nice change up at 2 and a half. Emotionally, I get a picture of everyday anguish, of pain that is not spoken but rather present as life goes on. Nice work my friend.
In my collection of my best indies for sure.
Thanx for the download Sir Rob !
11/30/10 02:19:56PM @huge-artist:
I'll agree with my old mate Slarou.
That man has an amazing talent for orchestraion and composition.
Beautiful opening, encouraged me to turn it up,which is a little trick I use from time to time
Then that soaring lead over choral pads, can't go wrong.
I have always enjoyed your lead Rob.
I think your main instrument (Bass) has influenced how yuo play lead a good deal.
Speaking of which, bass and drums keeping it all nailed together nicely.
Then we have some slide as well
It all becomes gothic and twisted without you really noticing just when that happened,VERY nicely done transition from light to dark IMHO.
The slide:
Yep,like that because you are using it as another instrument, and not justa guitar played with the slide.
VERY nice use of vibrato in the second "Lead" segment as well, the lead is much more "There"
Then sadly it fades, and I get the feeling there was at least another 2-3 minutes of this edited out?
Excellent Rob.

Heel knap "Rob" heel diep, heel mooi, inderdaad het is "A sound of Gold".

Welcome to my little corner of the music world. It is my pleasure to share my music with those who choose to listen and / or download it. I'm an old hobbyist musician, who retired from the local scene in 1978. I sold all I owned and gave up playing. I had worked in record stores for 12 years, during the 70's and early 80's, so I was exposed to a large variety of music. I have a love for listening, equal to playing. While working in the record stores, I LOVED finding new groups and promoting them to a local following of music lovers. I can remember breaking new groups, like Lynyrd Skynrd and Boston, when nobody had heard of them. It was an AWESOME time in the record industry. I remember lines at the door, when a new Rolling Stones LP came out. Anyway, my point is......I LOVE to listen as much as I love to play. My view on "reviews" has always been positive and I never say what isn't felt from my heart.
I picked up again in 2006, after hearing some friends music, at a site called Aural Moon. He told me he had recorded it at home, on his computer. I said..."WHAT"!?!?!?!?! "HOW"?!?!?!?! I was then introduced to a world of computer recording and Indie websites. I went to a Guitar Center and came home BROKE!!! A computer interface, software, keyboard, guitar, microphone.....and here I am today......As for my playing, I am primarily a rock bass guitar player. I love to mess with guitar. I try to play keyboards, though I can only play what I hear and my fingers can do......AND!!! I have no idea what I'm doing. I use EZ Drummer for drum arranging, Audio M-Tron for some of my Strings and Choirs and my Yamaha keyboard for others. I LOVE to do collaborations and have been tagged a "collab ho".......Oh yeah!!! My vocals......???? Never was a singer, never will be....BUT!!! What the heck!!!!!
I hope you enjoy yourself here and the music is yours for free, if you so desire to take it.

"Floydesque" (before "Dark side of..."
Six "agréable"(sorry dont find the english word)minutes.A mood where every seconds contain this same beautiful balance in between instruments.
It is a mixing performance to success to create a real blending ensemble within being able to hear every part.
The production is TOP !!! The mix is greatand over all....
The feeling going out is just SO COOL !!!
In my collection of my best indies for sure.
