Right out in the desert They found his last remains He'd been a bad, bad man And killed his way to fame
Out there in the desert under the sun Out there in the desert with his gun
Some knew him as Jericho Or the Dead-Eye kid The dime novels galmourised the evil things he did
Out there in the desert under the sun Out there in the desert with his gun
No onw will mourn No one will cry Nobody saw The way Jericho died
Now, I heard this story About Springfield Jack He tracked down Jericho and shot him the back
Out there in the desert under the sun Out there in the desert with his gun Out there in the desert under the sun Out there in the desert with his gun

Like your other western rock themed songs, this has a real cool story. The slow down with the chorus/bridge caught me off guard...a good surprise. The distorted harp and playing fit the bill as does the slide guitar work. Great vocals and song Ron! You might think about gathering up all your Cowboy songs to put out a Ron Bowes Best of The West album...that would be cool!

Used to play in many semi-pro bands in 70s, played bass for David Jackson (Van Der Graaf Generator) on some of his demo work. Have worked with Trevor Thornton - Drummer (Saxon, Asia), Ray Brookes - Multi instrumentalist and songwriter (Rory Gallagher Band), Kathy Short - Singer/songwriter (Kathy & the Short-List), Fred White - Drummer, Carol Sue - Singer/songwriter and guitarist, Ern and The TrueVulgarian - Singer/songwriters, Paul Rainbird (band mate from early bands) and Ricky Moore (Songwriter and guitarist). Played Windsor free festival on same billing as Hawkwind and met the late great lemmy. In the 80s played in "Shoot the Butler" who released an indie album, cut at Abbey Road. Back to gigging for a while, then the studio for a cassette release called "Final Curtain" by Flix. Wilderness for 10 years,. Now I am back writing and producing my own stuff. Cuts down on band disagreements :D
