Hi folks!
I've done another Steely Dan Cover. I can't help myself, it's too much fun!
It's really not finished yet, the mix is really rough (and so are my vocals in places, yikes!)
Anyway, here 'tis:
Daddy Don't Live In That New York City (No More)
There's kind of a story within the recording of this song. The guitar I used I bought sight unseen from Amazon for $140 brand new in the box. I already had a set of Seymour Duncan pickups laying around so...
I'm telling you, this guitar sings. It's one of those magical marriages of wood and pickups that somehow goes WAY above the sum of it's parts.
My band-mates call it "The Unicorn", because things like that only exist in myths, right?
Also: The main guitar part on the original recording was done by Larry Carlton, one of the G.O.A.T.'s. My apologies Larry.
Just jamming with myself basically, getting back to my roots so to speak...
Anyway, this song was written by Booker T. Jones (if you don't know, Google!) and covered by everybody from Peter, Paul, and Mary to Joe Bonamassa. And now me!
I had planned to make this a whole production thing, with horns and back ground singers and all, but I kinda like it like it is, just bare bones and fun....
Hope you enjoy it!
I have remixed 50:1 Gas To Oil
I think it's a lot punchier and cleaner now.
I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks!!
This is just a lazy groove thing perfect for an early summer weekend!!!!
This was inspired by a Jeff Beck tune called "Big Block".
I once heard that originality is a result of people unsuccessfully trying to imitate their influences.......
Hey! I'm an original!!
I NEED YOUR HELP!!This is a song that a friend of mine and I wrote. It's our first collaboration and we'd like your opinion. This is actually a rough mix with a first vocal take but you'll get the idea.
Thanks so much!!

Well, I can't help myself, I keep doing these Webb Wilder covers. They're just so much FUN !
Thanks for listening, and as always, all licenses paid!
Here's a cover of a song from Steely Dan's "Pretzel Logic" album. This is the first mix.
I hope you like it!
UPDATE!!!
I have put up a new mix of this song. I think it's a little more dynamic and clear. I hope you enjoy it!
This is a little different for me....

It's a cover of a Webb Wilder song, written by David Grissom who also plays guitar on Webb's version. Webb Wilder is, of course, the Last Of The Full Grown Men , and I am a HUGE fan!
Actually, it's a pale imitation ....like, translucent. My apologies to any Webb Wilder or David Grissom fans out there.
If you have a chance go to YouTube and listen to the original. It took me a long time to get anywhere close ! And actually I'm not close because:
A) I'm NOT Webb Wilder
and
B) I'm definitely NOT David Grissom, who is one of the MONSTER guitarists on the planet.
So, yeah, not close......
The style of playing is different for me obviously, but I really had fun TRYING to do it.
And, BTW, this is all me, I had no help, and there is no one else to blame.....
All licenses and permissions obtained.
Oh yeah. The name of the song IS "Loud Music". So, TURN IT UP!!
Happy Valentines Day everybody! I hope everybody finds romance today. Here's my Valentines Day gift to you all.
This is a little different for me....
