iMS Radio Continued

During the next week we will be testing it out and making sure everything works the way it is supposed to work. </font></p><p><font size="4">As for DJ's I think if you are interested in having a show, please send me a message with your show idea. A small mp3 sample would also be good.</font></p><p><font size="4">I think what we would be looking to do is possibly do a few weekend shows at 2-3 hours per show. As for content, it must be original music only. No Covers. I would like to say all music has to be from iMS LOL but I think that defeats the purpose of a good radio show. The idea is to get music heard. </font></p><p><font size="4">A few requirements for DJ's. You must have high speed internet access. A speedy computer would also be good. You must have a decent mic and souncard in order to stream. DJ's will connect directly into our server and we will stream the content. </font></p><p><font size="4">As I said, we are in the testing stages so bare with us!</font></p><p><font size="4">Dazed</font></p>

Well alot of people on IMS complained about the language on NEXUS so i think the IMS shows are going to have to be pretty clean.

for a 192kbps show you need a stable 24kilobytes per ssecond (250KiloBITS) upload [though thats really cutting it fine, any blips in your speed would bump you off air briefly], and a ping to wherever the server is of under 100ms - now if dazed can tell you where his server is based you can do a speed test from www.speedtest.net to close to where his server is, remember its your UPLOAD speed that matters not your download.
Realistically you need to be smashing these speeds and have a really descent PC spec.. just look at the many dj requests i have posted on nexus, ims, mix, sc and other places round the web with our minumum requirements... you'll need about the same but a better connection to broadcast on IMS radio.

ok guys I ran a quick test of this today. I think I have it figured out but I am sure we are going to have a learning curve! Once we get the DJ's in place we will have a few test runs and go live accordingly.

I do like the idea of all the music being from IMS, but for selfish reasons only. My week is extremely hectic as most of you know and I simply can't get to enough of our artists sites during the week to listen to all the new stuff. Hell, I'm probably a month behind as it is....lol. So an all IMS show would be ideal, at least for me.
The more I think about this, the more I like it !!!!
