Song Information and Lyrics

I thought I would mention this because I think it is a good idea. Carol Douglas posted in the FORUM asking if we could get everyone to post song lyrics when we have them. I know I am guilty of not adding this information so I will go back and add what I can.

Since we are on the topic, I think it would also be cool to read up on some song information. It would be nice knowing how it was recorded, instruments used song concept etc.

Thoughts?

I am glad you posted this subject -- i never knew that people were interested in the general info and lyrics.
I have found that putting the song info in the comments where we normally would type reviews works well.
Many times when i am listening to someones track, i will then realize i havent visited the 'ABOUT' link. it can be hard to get to sometimes with some windows. So, when i post a track, i often will then go and put my 'about' blurb in the comments box where the reviews go. This is then very easy for people to find when they are listening to the track.
Let me know people, if there is some flaw in this approach that i have overlooked.

I typically use those fields for my tunes... most of the time they are in jest, but I do usually put entries in there.
Yeah, I like to read the lyric and any info. as the song plays. Most times I post the lyric and a little bit about the song but don't go into a lot of detail such as how it was recorded. I'll give that some thought next time. Even when the info. is posted, it requires a few moves to get to it. I wonder if there is an easier way that I'm missing?

man gina.. how many LPs i wore the grooves through the vinal trying to figure out the chords etc.. and margot darling I too fondly recall reading the lyrics from the sleeve notes or booklet.. yes those were great music times.. but now it's OUR time.. yahoooooooooo !!!!!!!!! lol..
I've got to admit that I love reading artist's information about tracks and will always try to find the lyrics if they're posted as it really does help in reviewing. Back in the old mixposure days the songs used to come up on their own page and the lyrics and any info were available.
Not suggesting that is possible in here, but it was a nice way of getting some insight into a song. IMS provides the facility for both lyrics and info. I think it's just a case of encouraging people to utilise these features and the let people know when artists have.

I generally post up a little info about my songs and post the lyrics..Back in the day when vinyl was the "be all and end all", there was nothing finer than sitting with the album cover of a new LP and reading the lyrics as the record was playing.....Ahhhh, those were the days...
