Genre Spotlights
I have added in 2 of the Genre Spotlights and the link can be found up top under Genre Spotlights. This is still under construction but we are getting closer. TJ Gardner and Rob Grant have stepped up for two Genres and we will be adding more along the way. I am not sure who did these on the original Mix but if it was you, send me a message!

Thanks,
Dazed
glad to hear it sly.. i know we talked a bit about it so you know you had my full support brother.. congratulations.. it will be a fascinating and important genre here.. the future is clear.. we can't hold back musical progress.. we shouldn't want to.. there will always be plenty of room for good rock.. it's our roots.. but it's not THE MUSIC.. and it shouldn't be afraid of new sounds and styles.. stagnation is death.. cheers..
electronic is setup sly - careful what you ask for
Check your messages!
Thanks Rob and Nigel for your support.
Elctronic music has its place even on what was once a guitarists site.
Well at least I think it does.
Sly
You go airmeki44 that is excellent tips, and I think that they would work. Maybe not 100%, but even 40% would be great if it gets listeners into the site.
" I think we should create a lot more emphasis on other musical genres on mixposure - other than rock, metal, folk and pop (those four seem to be the most prominent, especially the former"
Well said Heinz.
Nigel
I'm already riding the horse with flying flags ... um, banners!
Every personal email that leaves the outbox has a mixposure banner in its signature ...
I am going on a wild advertising trip through cyberspace starting this weekend, promoting our beloved site!
Still, I feel Gina said exactly what is on my mind too: We already do a lot of things to promote the site; an unparalleled great radio show, a very approachable and efficient administration ... but I too feel we need to break through an invisible wall that still surrounds mixposure. There were a few things I thought we can look at:
1. MixRadio on 'Live 365' or other similar internet radio stations
2. Get in touch with CDBaby, iTunes, Napster, etc ... and try getting banners at their sites ...
3. Send out 'personalized' emails to users at Soundclick and other equivalent music/community sites (I know, that would be spamming - but so be it, people need to get pushed sometimes to get to paradise ... lol).
4. I think we should create a lot more emphasis on other musical genres on mixposure - other than rock, metal, folk and pop (those four seem to be the most prominent, especially the former). The new 'genre spotlight' would just be perfect for doing this. Sly already expressed his desire to 'push' Electronica. This is a great step!
5. Continuing to spread the positive atmosphere as we all already do!
Just some thoughts ... again (sorry)
Heinz.
Most definately seconded Rob
Sly would be the man.

Ahh, the banner thing is a great idea...I`ll have to get on that one then..:-)
Plenty of banners here - http://www.mixposure.com/index.php?t=form_promote
I am still not sure what the best route is of promoting the site. So far I have relied on word of mouth.
so what are the new catagories?
Looking good Houston... Great stuff Dazed..:-)
Click the Genre Spots link in the menu. Those are the first two. We will be adding more accordingly.
Well of course the one way is by placing Mixposure banners on your personal websites, but as well myspace pages, and if you wanna get real ballsy you could place banners on other music promtion sites.
