<span style="font-size: medium; font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; color: #cc9900;">Hey everyone I just made a change to use the flash player as a popup on all hi-fi song links. The lo-fi will still use your player of choice. <br /><br />Let's test it out and see how it works out. If it is causing issues we will go back to the old way. <br /><br />Thanks!<br />Dazed</span>
for now I have turned them off. I agree that it is slowing down the site too much. I will look into this a little later and see.
Thanks for the feedback all.
Cool player.....but isn't it possible to make it work both ways by choice in personal profile modification set-up ?
hey Dazed, it seems to be working fine over here other than the unusually high CPU usage caused by the flash player. Definitely adds to computer load and slows down things in general. ~Blake
Hey Mike it is supposed to replay the single songs. My wmp does the same thing. it will still only count as 1 play count so don't get your hopes up people lol.
Yo - might want to fix this is well .. the tune you choose is on replay...
It's nice, as is - but I really was looking forward to doing some listening and reviews from work (YEAH, I know, I should be working, but everything gets done - no worries!!).
Anyway ... "People's Choice!" Go with what is popular in the community!
Cheers,
Mike
I have the wrong code in for the album I bet. I will fix it!
i don't seem to have a prob. this **** sounds great!
i think it is a great idea!
The player behaves differently when you are in "review mode", rather than going to an artist page and initiate the embedded player from the artist's page.
if I didn't close the player the review page was just hanging there and I couldn't move on. As I said though my dsl isn't the fastest...darn
odd Wave. When doing reviews I never close the player I just click on the next song. Tsar not a glitch. The reason you did not get that before was your player was already in use!
As it stands right now it looks like more are inclined to go back.
was a little faster going from the review board, but wouldn't post the review until I closed the flashplayer. I'll have to do it that way, the other way was just too slow.
seems to slow things down for me, while the song is playing the review tab is slow to come up and then takes a bit before its ready to accept print...could be just my connection though, but I was fine with the old way, wasn't as much flash going on so pages were faster.
LOL Tsar! Keep posting all. We need to see if we want to keep this!
ok thanks Mike. let's see if anyone else has this issue as well. That could be a network issue vs a flash player issue. Let me know if it continues all day.
Thanks for the heads up!
When listening from work (which I dhould probably not do anyway), the first 40 seconds of a song play 1 second at a time, then pauses, plays another second, pauses, and so on. It's buffering. So, the flash player does not wait until the buffering has been completed to stream the song from the beginning to the end without interruption. Finally an upgrade for WMP here at work and it would work just fine ... it would buffer up to about 15 - 20%, then play the entire song without interruption.
Well, like I said - I should be working at work anyway, shouldn't I? LOL
I just listened to my own songs via the album play button, and the popup popped up no problem. But i couldn't fast-forward to the next song ...
hahaha! dazed!
no runnin up the plays! lol
It's a network issue for sure. It's been like this since the inception of the flash player ... ONLY when I am at WORK. At home, I have no issues at all with the player. I think it's going to be a problem for anyone who sits behind a corporate network's firewall which filters activity from the Internet.
The flashplayer does not buffer like WinAmp or WMP to wait until enough of the streaming source is avaialble for uninterrupted streaming from the first to the last second of a song. Like I said, it's only here at work - not at home.
WIM I might be able to do that. Let me think about it.
