Clicksor
Good Morning!

Mixposure has been testing a few different ad companies and one we recently tried was called Clicksor. From the initial testing I had some problems but they assured me they had fixed everything. I do not mind ad banners or text ads on the site but I will not have popups, text mouse over ads or anything that will just get in the way. This is a music site not a ad factory.

That being said I kept getting text ads links, similar to what you see on Foxnews.com and it was driving me nuts so I canceled the ads. They sent me an email and said they turned off that functionality behind the scenes so I put them back in.

Ked mentioned to me that he was getting virus warnings on the site and Mike was getting them also. I scanned the server but we were clean. In discussing this with Mike last night I said it could only be from the Clicksor so I removed the ads. Mike no longer had any issues. It appears what was going on was even though we were only supposed to have text ads and banner ads, Clicksor allowed an advertiser to do a popup which looked like real AV warnings but in actuality it was just to lead you to their site if you clicked the "warning".

Our apologies for the issue and Clicksor has been tossed into the waste basket. If you did see these popups, you will not see them again.

Thanks,
Dazed
I got the same thing on Wed. AntiSpy 2009 or something like that. This is malware folks and it hijacks your computer. If you did by accident click on the balloon warning ( I clicked on the X to try to close it) chances are your computer is infected big time with trojan files spread all through your computer. The only program that gets rids of all the infections is found at malwarebytes.org. Gonna need to reboot into safe mode with networking, download that file and do a thorough scan. It should find about 12 infected files on your computer. Reboot into safe mode again and scan again. When you are sure your computer is virus free reboot back into regular mode.
Believe me, most spyware programs and anti virus programs don't detect all the infections if any at all. Malwarebytes is the only one that finds them all.
I just don't get these idiots that think it's fun to destroy other peoples property !!!!!

Forgot to mention, Microsoft tech support walked me through this entire process. I also had to download Trojan Remover 1st because this malware kept redirecting my pages and I was unable to update any AV program or spyware programs I had. This really is a nasty one, I do suggest if you've been infected to follow these steps regardless of what protection program you have installed on your computer.
i had to get spy doc, worked great! no more probs.!
Glad we found that problem and gave it the nuke.. Dazed.. keep up the great work
i hate thoes freaking things!
i picked up a fake virus once, and it turnded out to be that the whole scame was trying to sell me anti virus/spy ware that was not even real!
after a little poking around it turns out this was a huge deal, that this scam was making a tone of money off a lot of people.
what realy gets me is, this was nothing but a skin! there was no depth to this virus at all,and yet, there was only two real software antivirus programs to remove it.
so thanks for being so aware dazed, very cool!
Hey - we got it worked out, no Trojans on my machine anymore!!! Thanks to Dazed for taking care of the root of the problem! Kinda wants you to look more into those who say they sponsor you ... checking out HOW they actually are doing that, eh?
But, lets be honest .. the root of the problem can be taken care of if you have the right AV program ... it took me 3 times to run mine to be free of infections! But, I am CLEAN now!
It pays to have a reliable AV Program!
Cheers,
Mike
DAMN.....Whilst opening music page of "KEEP SPACE" I had a virus warning !
Could place it in the vault of the scanner...So hit remove...hope that did the trick....Last Sunday I had to Format HD...was ready one hour before the show.....wasn't the first time...I hate that !
Ooh yeah....It was a Trojan again !

These third party elements often are bad news....reconsider before start bringing them in !
Thank you for your "police" work. Free enterprise is welcome but not at the expense of potential viral infections and just plain annoyance. We all appreciate your efforts.
Thank you Dazed for keeping that crap at bay.
Nigel.
