Upgrades
<span style="font-size: medium;">Hey everyone! Sorry I have been MIA the last week but I have been racking my brain doing site upgrades. Here is where we are at so far. The second server is up and running. You may notice the <strong>www2</strong>.mixposure.com/bandname url. The www2 is transparent so please use the normal url for any links. <br /><br />The Flash Players have been upgraded and there is now a slide bar to forward and reverse within a song. I will also be adding some more players so you can have a color choice for your page. The embed code on the new player is not correct so please refrain from using it at the moment! Good find Blake! It should be fixed today. <br /><br />With the upgrades, all videos will now convert to flash file format behind the scenes. I have not tested all formats but wmv, mov, mpg, mpeg, m4v, f4v are all acceptable to upload now. Since we will only have Flash Video on the site now, this is the same as YouTube by the way, we will need one video player. What doe this mean to you? Well this weekend I will be putting in the new video players on the site. Any videos that you have uploaded that were not flash, will not work. Please Modify the Video, and upload the same video again. This way all comments will be retained. In a week we will delete any videos that are left over. <br /><br />Since our video files are going to take up a lot less space, our Premium Members can now upload 320k bitrate songs. The same rules apply here gang, <strong>PLEASE MODIFY YOUR SONG</strong> and upload the high bitrate version. DELETING the song will cause you to lose all reviews!!! Thanks for supporting the site. Without you, these upgrades would not be possible!<br /><br />Now I know that the odds are we are going to find a few bugs. If you see something that is not right, please post it in the <a href="http://www.mixposure.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=8">HELP FORUM</a> so we can track it. <br /><br />Oh there is a YouTube Video Page I am working on. It is experimental at the moment and may or may not stay. if u run out of space let me know. Right now I am not sure what to set the default values. I could take an average mb per song and multiply by the number of songs allowed. But right now I thing the values are pretty high if memory serves correct.
Those are all worthy upgrades, the 320k option makes a big difference but may limit me to less song uploads due to the MB restriction on my account.

oh the links for the top reviewers are not right. That is going to take a little work since it is a function. Hopefully it will be done in a few days!
Guys please use the Help Forum so we can track everything? There were a lot of changes and I am still not done yet lol. There are bound to be bugs.
Nigel just modify the existing video and upload the same video. The software will convert the video to the correct format. I wish I could just run all of them at once but I can't! So the easiest way is to just re-upload the same video and it will do the conversion. Please post about the url links so I know what to look at.
elektronz - I can look at the default file size but no one has gone over yet that I know about! But I will increase if needed!

320 is wicked ,,credit for this ,,,so with the 320 limit is the max song file size to be increased as well as my tunes even at 256 are quite big ?

Thanks Wim! Hopefully it all works lol. There are a few links on the main page I have to fix today also. The list should be getting shorter but it seems to be getting longer lol.

One question; your description made it sound like premium members will have songs previous loaded with bitrates lower than 320 deleted? I don't believe you mean this, but please clarify.

I think Dazed means Premium members will have the option to modify their songs to 320k if they wish Dave. Just warning us not to delete the 192 version or we will lose the reviews is all. Simply modify the song and upload the 320 version over the 192 one

oh as for deleting, that will be video files that end in wmv, avi, mpg etc in a week. I am going to have my host clear those out since they will not work on the site after I add the flash players in.
