A sad day with the passing of a musical legend. I will never forget buying a Tobacco Sunburst Gibson Les Paul Standard and thinking how cool it was that I owned the same guitar that many icons like Jimmy Page used. Well I was 13 at the time hehe.
I am guessing there will be a tribute soon with many musicians coming together to share not only their music but their stories of Les. I know I will be watching it.
Talk about a man who left his mark in this world. Les Paul left his mark not only over millions of people over the last 60-70 years but many future generations to come.
I hate to say rest in peace because that sounds so cliche. I think "Well Done Les" makes more sense to me. He lived an iconic life and I can't help but smile with the accomplishments this man made.

Sad loss, the legacy he leaves is beyond doubt. What we manage to do on a daily basis is the result of his genius and fore sight.
He'll be having a blast playing up there in heaven, meeting up with all those musicians who were just waiting for him to join them.
What a blessed man he is!!!
Yes, Les Paul left his mark on the rock 'n roll world in many ways, through his guitar playing, LP inventions, and recording enovations.....and he will be remembered forever for those. I certainly will remember him every time I pick up my LP Custom. Say hello to Mary, Les...........

The thing that blows me away is he invented tape delay, as well as multi-track recording in addition to the solid body guitar and being a virtuoso of the instruments (with many Top 1 hits). He invented the multi-track tape head with two slighty offset uptake heads which allowed for true delay. The multitrack was actually 8 heads which fed into a single head. He was a genius by any measure.
Innovator,legend.
We owe him so VERY much.
Rest in peace mate, and thank you.

An truly legend and genius, who has inspired thousands and thousands to learn and improve the guitar playing skills has left us.
Thanks for all you´ve done.

I've never been partial to the Les Paul Guitar, but Les Paul the man was such an extraordinary genius and pioneer with his strides in music, and the electric guitar. The world has lost a true legend and he will surely be missed by all musicians who have heard, or picked up and played the instrument that was his passion.
he had an original 8 track in his kitchen ( huge machine )
