Music Players
<p><span style="font-size: medium;">Gabriel posted in the forum about having some issues with the audio player buffering. I can not duplicate this on Mac or PC with multiple browsers. We run two different servers that are no where near capacity and run multiple xeon processors and a ton of memory. I am not thinking it has to do with any of the servers.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">So is anyone else having any issues with the flash players buffering? When you first click the play button, you should see the buffer bar jump out about an inch in front of the play bar.If you are ahving any issues, please post a reply here and let me know what browser and version you are running, pc or mac and what operating system.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Thanks for your help!</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Todd<br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p>
Just a lil update....the vids are streaming just fine, still can't get the flash player working properly. Everything else flash related is working as it should. Kinda ran out of out of stuff to remove from my comp without making it inoperable lol.
Thanks for those kind words Dace, I'm deeply humbled by them
As far as opera, was working fine for a couple of hours than back to the same drop outs.
I fired up IE8 on my laptop today and not a hitch. I wouldn't get to excited about that, opera was working perfectly last night as well. Still looking into other possibilities.
I may just open a VIP account at another site just to test my music before I upload to Mix. Only drawback is I can't return any reviews
It is still working correctly in Opera for you though right?
Thanks Gezha, I've literally uninstalled and reinstalled both the download manager and the flash player no less than 20 times. At this point I'm just letting it go. Too much of a headache.
I'll be testing it at college tomorrow Todd. We have Wi-fi with great reception
How is it running on your laptop?
Forgot to mention, the buffer meter is about 5-6 seconds behind the players. Hope this helps somewhat.
Well I just double er triple checked everything. Went to about 10 or so different sites (all the major ones) and no problems buffering whatsoever. The Meter jumps out about 2-3" before the songs even begin. Wish I could say it is on my end but if it was I would be having problems everywhere I go. Still looking into possibilities but I pretty much tried every solution known to man lol. The problems with these errors is that every computer is different so at times it's really hard to track down the culprit. I'm running a very clean machine, only 21 essential processes running in the background. Still looking at possibilities but like i said, I'm having zero problems on any other site...shrug.
Thanks for the heads up David. The color players have a bug at the moment. I may revert back to the last version. I hate doing that after all the code changes for the latest version lol. The MySPace style player should be fine though!
I have not had any problem with the flash players on Mixposure but I have with the Mixposure flash player that I placed on my website. www.davidcdeal.com
This is a new issue since it played without a problem off my web site for months.
Dave
Wish I knew what was causing this for you guys. As I have said, I can't duplicate it on any operating system (mac, xp, vista or win7) or the latest version of any browser (firefox, IE8 or safari). It is very difficult to fix a problem you can't duplicate!
Well I tried version 9 flash and same problem. Read on one of the adobe support sites that if the site developer uses too much hardware acceleration it may cause this problem, in other words causing a bottleneck. I'll try to find the link for you
to be honest, i have to restart any song i'm trying to listen to
3-4 times to get a listen. but i just don't get it, i think........
wasn't allways like that though, i remember a time when i could do anything w/out issue.
mybe just old equipment but....i don't have too meney issues any where else.
hope this helps,
Hey Dace!! The embed code on the new player had a bug so we reverted back the the prior version. All offsite players should be working fine. If it is not, refresh your cache and you should be set.
As for Gabriel, he and I have been working on this together for a few days and several hours. Opera was working fine for him yesterday. The problem is this seems to be a conflict on his end with FireFox and IE8 not a player issue. No one else seems to be having issues. Gabe I would probably uninstall both browsers and reinstall and see if that helps.
