Ronnie James Dio
<p>It is a sad day today with the passing of Ronnie James Dio. Reports were all over the place that he had died and then others that said he had not died. I had read on Blabbermouth today that in fact he had not passed away according to his wife. It looks like they may have been trying to notify people before they had to read about it. You can check on <a href="http://www.facebook.com/OfficialRonnieJamesDio" target="_blank">RJD'd Facebook Page</a> and read more. </p><p>Here is one of my favorite tunes from Rainbow. I had the pleasure of seeing Ritchie when he had his band Dio. He was an amazing vocalist. </p><p> </p><p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="480" height="385" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/p3VgV31vmUE&rel=1"></param><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="385" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/p3VgV31vmUE&rel=1" wmode="transparent"></embed></object></p>
Almost forgot...
My all-time favorite DIO song was...THE LAST IN LINE. Just sensational music.

An absolute shame. I saw him with Sabbath on the heaven and Hell and The Mob Rules tours. Unbelievable singer. Will be sorely missed
He was an awesome front man.
I will miss him greatly.
Nigel
what a great singer...
r.i.p.
What a monster vocalist he was. One of the greatest rock voices of all time. I miss him already.
I saw him do a Halloween Concert at the Worcester Centrum in Worcester, Mass. on Halloween night in 1986...simulcast live to all of New England on WBCN Radio....with Vinnie Appice on drums and Vivian Campbell on guitars, it was just a smoking band...and they had an exceptional show that night. He was a tiny little guy...but he had a voice like thunder...and he never, ever looked like he was working hard when he belted this stuff out. It was just the way his voice was. A true rock legend...and a great loss.
