Mixposure Radio Downloads!
<p><span style="font-size: medium; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva;">Hey Everyone!</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva;">Pretty soon I will be sending out a notification about setting a DJ Friendly Song Download option. What this means is that when you upload a song, or any current song you have uploaded, there will be a section on the song upload form for, "Allow DJ Download". You will need to set it to Yes or No. This is really for artist who are setting the songs for Stream Only or currently have the song For Sale. As an Artist, you will be able to tell us whether you want our DJ's to be able to Download it and play it on Mix Radio. ONLY THE DJ'S will have access to the download link. Everyone else will see the normal play button and buy button. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva;">Really this is no different than how the radio stations work today. Artist want airplay to promote their songs and get it heard by as many people as they can. Our goal was to give artists the option of how they wanted us to promote their music.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium; font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva;">Thanks everyone for their continued support of Mixposure. Hey Bri-an this is limiting us as a site to only Play music that is stream only or for sale based on what the artists would like to do. It makes it easier for our DJ's to get access to the music vs sending messages to the artists asking them to email a file. Only the DJ's can download the tune based on what the artist has set the Allow DJ Download value to.
And yes there are a million ways to rip a song from any site. Just google it and you can usually find a way. How we have set it up though puts the choice on the Artist to decide if they want airplay or not. They can say no if they are worried.
...so the muso's who allow the DJ's download option "yes "can keep their option to "stream only" on there page?
...not so. The posting of a radio podcasts are downloadable...
Not trying to be difficult..but that option has negative effect on the "stream only" practice.
Muso's who believe that there toons are safe from downloads...are misinformed
...the only way to protect your music from downloads is not to post it...i understand the idea of what your doing....which sounds kool...but it just seem pointless to define "DJ friendly" " stream only" "download" " purchase song" when it is "there" for anyone to have?
