LOL Gare. I think you are correct on that. The problem is that airlines have limits to protect themselves. I hope he gets reimbursed but he will probably have to sue to get it.
On my way back from vacation I took a chance and asked if I could carry the new Breedlove to the gate. Worst case I would have to gate check it so I would know it was on the same plane I was. Fortunately the plane was half empty so I got to carry it on.
