I was reading about this guitar on PremierGuitar.com and I thought I would share. For some reason I kind of like this. Thr price was not bad either at $1199.
Scottsdale, AZ (August 5, 2014) -- EVH is proud to announce the release of one of the most requested guitars Eddie Van Halen has played over the years, the EVH Stripe Series “Circles” guitar made famous by Van Halen’s 1981 “Unchained” music video.
With an otherworldly black-and-white “circles” graphic gloss finish, the EVH Circles model is without question one of the most distinctively eye-catching guitars in the Stripe Series lineup. There’s nothing alien about the rest of this high performance tone machine, though, with its sleek Strat-like basswood body, rock-solid quartersawn maple neck with oiled finish, fast and smooth compound-radius maple fingerboard (12”-16”) with comfortably rolled edges and 22 jumbo frets, a single ferocious EVH direct-mount pickup with single black plastic control knob (master volume), EVH Floyd Rose with D-Tuna bridge and locking nut, and EVH tuners.

It seems to have a different paint job than the regular evh stripes-
up here it would translate to about 300 or 400 more money-
As a guitar, granted it does have some convienient features such as the spoke=wheel truss adjust, the D tuna etc-- although how many times do you need to use it? If owning a signature guitar is your choice then it is a good price -
however if its a working player guitar you want and have a limited budget, this guitar is 400 more dollars as a NEW Japanese Charvel used to be.
If you could still get them, which other than having a neck p/u and the paint is pretty straight forward, its almost the same guitar. I feel the Japan charvels of about 3 or 4 years ago have the best necks and are much more comfortable than the regular EVH stripes Ive tried at the store. The charvies have rolled edges and can be set up to extremely low action and they have the Floyd and single vol only.
You can hunt a Charvel/FenderJPN Pro-mod used for anywhere between 5 and 6. They only come in Candy blue or REd though-no stripes.
I dunno' it just doesn't do it for me. I am a traditionalist however, just give me a nice trans or burst and I'm good Also not big on Floyds or single pickups. The neck however sounds nice, I would love to play one just to see how the neck is. I must admit that the Wolfgangs have been catching my eye recently though Too bad the wallet is coming up dry.
That is a nice looking, eye catching guitar. I've always liked the idea of having just the volume knob and nothing else to damper down the pickups natural sound. I have one guitar with just a volume pot and it's amazing at the different tones one can get by just working the picking position and attack.
