WORLD5 - Review Of The Upcoming Album "3" by ViriAOR

The information that accompanies this 3rd WORLD5 album, with a perfectly calligraphic logo, is as concise and simple as it is interesting and illustrative at the same time. Founding members Raimund Breitfeld Sailon (drums) and Stefeen Goeres (guitars), along with Joe Gavito (guitars, keyboards, vocals and production) and the additions of Jimmy Olsson (bass) and Lou Evans ( lead vocals), complete this new line up of a band with musicians distanced and dispersed around the globe. In fact, the cover represents that distant group reality and that World adequately, that musical and virtually physical union of 5 musicians in front of the immensity of our beautiful Planet.

Their previous albums were “Global experience” (2012) and “Heartbeat of the world” (2016). On May 10, Spectra Music Group will publish this album titled “III” that begins deliciously with “I get it”, the tambourine protagonist, in a whisper sung with delicacy and melodious vocalizations, gains ground and consolidates itself in musical greatness, this extremely sharp singer. Tommy Shaw level packed with sonic soul. Beautiful with the relevant acoustic and electric guitars, a wonderful duet shared with Jonna Sailon enters the scene with the re-recorded of their debut “You and I” together with the angelic and imposing fine voice of Lou Evans . It is Pop Rock with an octane Soul “Just another night”, the quality of Mike & the Mechanics prevails and you dismantle the ease of the Paul Carrack feeling, a shy and slow saxophone that is peaceful until you savor the blissful rhythmic tranquility of a jazzy exercise of well-deserved success commercial. These songs like “Cry for the Children” could be part of the list of wonderful compositions tempered by Richard Marx and Clif Magness or included in the enormous albums by Chicago, Michael Thompson Band, Generation Radio or Soleil Moon.

It contours and entangles in elements of international, commercial, exquisite, flamenco and deep turn like “Bellacita”, the bits of Latin Rock filter in guitars and tasty percussion calculated between the Maná accentuating his personality and the luxurious Santana more Pop. That line with warbles drawn by Soul and mixing Blues guitar with pop velvet continue to lean towards Latin American and Soft Rock in “Be you”. Lou Evans has religion in his racial expression like Glenn Hughes at low volume and without exaggeration, we pray for the human essence in “That Kind of guy” and it reminds me of female voices at Christmas, with precision sewing and raised hands like Jaime Kyle , Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Celine Dion or Lady Gaga . My things….

The electroacoustics dominate the panorama of WORLD5 and provide them with personality and quality, the rhythm section gives them therapy and the solo voice hovers over the “everything” exposed. As an example, the happy “That’s how she plays the game”. The general and simple proposal of melodies that are difficult to interpret is charming, they recreate brilliant sound elements of Eagles, Poco, Steely Dan, 10cc or Hall & Oates. “A moment in time” reminds me of RTZ by Brad Delp (RIP) and the adult Country Rock guitars are uplifting. “My life, my soul (Tamaras song)” has a 100% solo and instrumental intro and development. Another delicacy and demonstration of tasty musicality, a delicacy that arrives in 5 minutes to break the temporal rule of Pop and add virtuous contrast. They end with a loquacious dialogue between strings, percussion and relaxed vocals in “You are my why.” He can DJ like Peter Cetera, caress like Antonio Vega, breathe deeply like Richard Marx, smell like hot coffee like Paul Carrack, proudly display Jason Scheff’s last name or place front-line vocalists like Larry King, Billy Trudel, Glen Burtnik, Brett Walker, Lars Säfsund and on their website they mention Bobby Kimball, Jason Mraz and Brandon Boyle. You will love the sincere accentuations seeking to know the “why” to decipher it with human and musical tenderness.

There is nothing more to say or add praise about the refined and immense songs of this magnificent “III” by WORLD5.

I love how they call this pleasant album… ”Pop Rock with a global influence”, and they also stylistically describe each song specifying and differentiating them between…”Pop Rock”, “Soft Rock”, “Ballad” or “Adult Contemporary”. This fact, which facilitates and guides the orientation of this calm review without any type of objection or embarrassment on my part. Also, for curious completists, I recommend going back and searching ViriAor to read Rocky’s review of his previous album from 2016. WORLD5 create songs that do not exceed 4 minutes in length but tend to leave you with a deep feeling of extensive and lasting music.

 World5 ‘III’ Has Arrived

Skope Magazine March 10, 2024  World5 ‘III’ Has Arrived

World5 is a talented group of musicians that offers “pop rock with a global influence”. The result is fantastic with a style that entices the audience with its mass appeal. World5 has just released a new album titled ‘III’. This is a highly anticipated album release that also features 11 standout videos to accompany the songs. Get ready to immerse yourself in a World filled with catchy elements, satisfying melodies and meaningful messages.

The record kicks off with a track titled “I Get It” that supplies an impeccable sound overall along with potent lyrics. This music speaks to the soul and “I Get It” all the way! This song features a wonderful arrangement and words that speak volumes like “The only thing that is real is where we are right now”. Next, we have “You And I (Duo with Jonna Sailon)” that can best be described as a star-studded performance! World 5 is standing strong here and delivering forever promises & smiles to “You And I”. Track three, “Just Another Night”, is a reflective piece that is both sensuous and vulnerable in nature. It is here where questions arise and true feelings grow uncontrollably for “Just Another Night”. I’d like to add that I really enjoyed the sexy sax sound on “Just Another Night” and as a former alto sax player myself I truly connected with this element.

Be sure to SKOPE out the video for “Just Another Night” right here:

Moving along, we hear “Cry For The Children” next that is very emotional and also provides an inviting melody with lyrics that hit you inside. This song has a BIG impact on the listener as one just may “Cry For The Children”. Track five, “Bellacita”, offers a seductive yet sensitive touch to go along with a spicy rhythm. Come dance along with “Bellacita” where you will receive enriching instrumentation and bright chords. On the following song, prepare to “Be You” each and every day. With music that makes you think, “Be You” provides the perfect soundtrack to life. People will move forward with the utmost confidence while listening to “Be You” as this song displays an audible purity that can’t be denied. This turns out to be one motivational & inspirational piece where you will want to just “Be You” and put your best foot forward. Jump into a free-spirited tune next on “That Kind Of Guy” as you roam through these wild times. It’s time to take the wheel and steer into the unknown with “That Kind Of Guy”. Track 8, “That’s How She Plays The Game” , incorporates a strong ‘n’ steady pace that wins the race. She is the Queen with an Ace of Hearts up her sleeve because “That’s How She Plays The Game”. Time is certainly ticking away, so why not stop for a second and just enjoy “A Moment In Time” where “love and hope intertwine”. “A Moment In Time” fully satisfies the soul and quenches your musical thirst from beginning to end. Get ready to take the plunge and make a splash as you catch a cool wave of musical bliss on “My Life My Soul (Tamara’s Song)”. Soak up all of the refreshing notes as “My Life My Soul (Tamara’s Song)” proves to be a super enjoyable listening experience. World 5 closes out the 11-song set with a comforting and caring message on “You Are My Why” . This song fills your ears with golden melodies and your heart with pure joy. I immediately thought of my beautiful wife on “You Are My Why”, so thank you for that World 5 and thank you for reminding me that my wife is my everything.

World5 ‘III’ is well-written with heartfelt material along with fun, bouncy notes proving to have a little something for everyone.

World5 should be very proud of their efforts on this album because it speaks to a large audience and unites US as ONE. It is said that music is the universal language and World5 makes that quite apparent on the new release with its uniting sound. I applaud you Worl 5 on a job well done and try to picture me giving you a standing O because that’s what this project deserves. ‘III’ is excellent work with a mix of songs that have true purpose and connect with people from all over the World.

Patrick Lew Hayashi (better known by his stage name LEWNATIC) is a guitarist, DJ, songwriter, and YouTuber. He is also a recording artist on New York City’s Bentley Records. He is perhaps best known for his tenures with the Patrick Lew Band (PLB) and more recently, with LEWNATIC. He has also played music and toured sporadically for other musical projects locally in Northern California.

Born 1985 in San Francisco as Patrick Allan Lew, Patrick was raised in the Bay Area to a Chinese father and Japanese mother of mixed descent. He became a passionate fan of Grunge, Punk, J-ROCK, and American and British Classic Rock music as a child. His favorite bands growing up were Nirvana, The Rolling Stones, X Japan, Green Day, Guns N’ Roses, Motley Crue, The Beatles, Pearl Jam, Oasis, Silverchair, BEYOND, B’z, and Led Zeppelin.

He began playing guitar at the age of 13 and studied guitar and music composition at Vibo Music Center and California State University East Bay (B.A., 2011). While attending Raoul Wallenberg High School in San Francisco during the early 2000s, he formed what would become the first incarnation of the Patrick Lew Band (PLB) with his classmates. While a student in college in 2007, he began uploading online content on YouTube related to his music.

Patrick graduated from Raoul Wallenberg High School in 2004, and also graduated from Soko Gakuen Japanese School that same year.

By the early-to-mid 2000s, the Patrick Lew Band began putting their music online on many different websites. In 2005 at the tender young age of 19, the group was briefly signed to Statue Records. The group would relocate to Antioch, CA during the late 2000s, and would perform and record locally in Contra Costa County’s garage band circuit. After many false starts on-and-off, personal struggles, and a rotating line-up of sidemen and potential band members, the Patrick Lew Band briefly took a two-year break from making music by the end of 2012.

Patrick Lew Hayashi also played locally in other musical projects outside of the Patrick Lew Band: TheVerse (2015-2019), Pleasure Gallows (between mid-to-late 2018 until early 2019), and Crazy Loser in a Box! (2018 onward). He also made a brief uncredited cameo appearance on Season 4 and Episode 1 of the critically acclaimed Amazon TV series The Man in the High Castle as an extra.

In 2015, he officially introduced his fictitious relative Madeline Lew (his M2F cross-dressing alter-ego) as a virtual band member and mascot of the Patrick Lew Band. That same year, he also rebuilt and rebranded the Patrick Lew Band (PLB) as an Internet-based virtual rock band, performing live sporadically, but more focus on home recording and producing unique music that’s been described, “as a dynamic and anthemic fusion of classic rock, J-Pop, and grunge.” After Madeline’s arrival in the project, PLB began achieving exposure in the local music scene that long eluded them. By 2020, the Patrick Lew Band (PLB) became relatively prolific in the indie music community and on the Internet, as numerous press and bloggers began curating PLB and writing about them.

Madeline’s singing voice was created on VOCALOID and A.I. singing technology, whereas, her likeness is mainly created by Gender Swapping on very popular iPhone/Android smartphone apps, alongside Photoshopping.

The Patrick Lew Band has recorded 13 CDs as a prolific home recording act and as bedroom producers: Jump! Rattle! And Roll! (2006), Let It Rise and Against (2009), Murder Bay (2011), Angry Yellow (2012), Bubblegum Babylon (2015), Oakland (2017), Cold Sirens (2017), Immortality (2020), Codebreaker (2020), Rolling Thunder (2020), No Sleep Till San Francisco! (2021), Exclamation (2021), Adrenaline (2022), and the upcoming release Forbidden Door (2024).

The Patrick Lew Band was inducted in the Akademia Music Hall of Fame in September 2023. A few years earlier in 2019, Patrick adopted his mother’s maiden name Hayashi (林) legally into his name, and created a touring and live-streaming solo project as a musician under the stage-name LEWNATIC, touring Japan and performing live shows once-a-month at San Francisco’s historic DNA Lounge, until the COVID-19 pandemic happened a year later.

The band’s name Lewnatic is a spoonerism of Patrick’s father’s surname and “Lunatic.”

By 2022, he reactivated his solo project LEWNATIC and quickly began making music and live-streaming as a recording artist on social-media. By July that year, he signed with Bentley Records and quickly produced and released three mini-albums (EPs) during 2022 and 2023: Rapid Fire! (2022), Getcha Mood On Right (2023), and The Lost Souls (2023).

He rebranded LEWNATIC as a more simplified version of the Patrick Lew Band, and as the spin-off/offshoot band related to the PLB. Most of LEWNATIC’s music tends to be Instrumental Rock, with some lead vocals on Patrick’s behalf on selective songwriting ideas. In LEWNATIC, like with post-2015 era Patrick Lew Band, he plays most or all of the instruments on the studio recordings. Onstage, Patrick plays guitar, sings occasionally, and uses a laptop running all the backing tracks as musical and rhythmic arsenal, performing a setlist of his more recent classic output with the Patrick Lew Band and all his selective musical work with LEWNATIC.

During 2023, Lewnatic performed a few live-stream performances on Patrick's YouTube channel. And also, performed and were interviewed extensively for Luke Sauer's podcast at San Francisco's Edge Studios streamed worldwide on Memorial Day. He is currently working on Lewnatic’s next album of all-new music titled STARCADE. He recently renewed his recording contract with Bentley Records in August that year.

Patrick Lew also reconnected with his long-time bandmate Madeline Lew from PLB, and regrouped the Patrick Lew Band going forward. In December 2023, Patrick was interviewed by Recording Artist Guild magazine.

Lewnatic currently remains a solo project for Patrick Lew Hayashi, as there are no other members onstage and in the home studio with him. Patrick Lew Hayashi boldly describes Lewnatic, “a one-man rock and roll machine.” The musical arrangements are very simple and straight-forward, Patrick plays guitar and occasionally raps/sings. And he handles the backing tracks and beats on his old laptop like a DJ.

The main motives for doing the band Lewnatic is to have fun, play heavy music and not take life and music in general so seriously. And the occasional punk rock show, whether it be a webcast or at the local dive bar! Expect more from the Sino-Japanese rock and roll pariah and icon himself. The Lewnatic is coming to town!

An Exceptionally Moving Collection of Songs, Album ‘III’ from Transcontinental Powerhouse WORLD5 is Set to Move the World

Review by Moosic Entertainment , Feb 29, 2024

WORLD5, the transcontinental musical collaboration of seasoned musicians, is back with their latest offering, their third studio album named ‘ III .” The band, with members scattered globally, has harnessed the power of the World Wide Web to create a cohesive sound that transcends physical distances. The album showcases a refined blend of Adult Contemporary, Pop-Rock, and Soft-Rock elements with Lou Evans’ lead vocals akin to the styles of Jason Mraz, Bobby Kimball, and Brandon Boyle.

WORLD5’s III will be available for pre-order on March 10th, 2024, and released on May 10th, 2024. On May 10th, III will be available wherever music is streamed or sold!

The opening track, “I Get It,” sets the tone for the album with emotionally charged vocals, skillful guitar work, and a rhythmic foundation that grooves. This track serves as a perfect introduction, inviting listeners into a world where love triumphs over hardships.

The inclusion of guest vocalist Jonna Sailon in “You And I” adds a delightful dynamic to the album, especially when Jonna and Lou sing together. Lou Evans’ vocals soar into a high tenor range, creating a captivating contrast. The catchy chorus and a scorching guitar solo make this track stand out. “Just Another Night” is based on an irresistible bass groove with unstoppable drums that demands movement, you can’t help but dance. The sweet saxophone adds an extra layer of musical richness, adding a bit of sweetness for your ears.

Carrying a powerful message, “Cry For The Children” is about making a positive impact on the world for future generations. The intricate percussion, impressive guitar work, and soulful vocals contribute to the song’s emotional resonance.

“Bellacita” transports the listener with its Spanish guitar introduction, setting a passionate mood. Smooth and expressive vocals further enhance the allure of this track. “Be You” delivers an uplifting message, encouraging listeners to embrace their authenticity. Tender vocals and a memorable chorus make this track infectious from the first listen.

A ballad about a free-spirited man who isn’t ready to settle down, “That Kind Of Guy” has a tight rhythm section and cool guitar licks, adding depth to the storytelling. “That’s How She Plays The Game” offers a contrast to the previous track, celebrating a strong, driven woman. The infectious chorus and spirited instrumentation make it a standout moment on the album.

“A Moment In Time” serves as a reminder to savor life’s fleeting moments. The butter-smooth vocals, supported by a solid rhythm section and soaring guitar solos, create a captivating listening experience. Joe Gavito’s “My Life My Soul” is an instrumental track that showcases the band’s instrumental prowess. With a strong beat, sweet guitar licks, phenomenal guitar solos, and bass fills, it’s a testament to the musicians’ skill.

Closing with “ You Are My Why,” a heartfelt ballad with passionate guitar riffs, the album leaves a lasting impression. The sweet and touching vocals invite listeners to sing along, concluding the musical journey on a poignant note.

In conclusion, the band’s third studio album simply named, ‘III’ is a testament to the masterful musicianship of WORLD5. The album is a collection of moving songs with catchy choruses, showcasing the band’s ability to craft engaging and emotionally resonant music. Each track offers a unique flavor, contributing to a cohesive yet diverse listening experience. The Radio Shows will be off the air until 8 March 2024. As many of you already know, most of our DJs are dealing with health problems, and we are short handed. As a result of this, our remaining DJs have been covering extra shows. We decided to take a month to recuperate. The Auto DJ will still be available. Sorry for the inconvenience.
