Streets Of Gold
Bury me down by some old gravel road
Bury me down by some old gravel road
Some place where no one will find me
Some place where nobody goes
A small plot of land,
I'll dig my grave by hand if I must.
Our streets of gold are covered in mud.
Our streets of gold are covered in mud.
Our streets of gold are covered in mud.
Our streets of gold
A long time ago, there was a beacon of light.
A long time ago, there was a beacon of light.
Offering hope to those less fortunate
Shining bright for those in need.
The tired and the poor,
But not anymore.
The power’s been cut.
Our streets of gold are covered in rust.
Our streets of gold are covered in rust.
Our streets of gold are covered in rust.
Our streets of gold
You cover your eyes, for you don’t want to see.
You cover your eyes, for you don’t want to see.
The freedom that we share, being trampled underfoot.
This country we love being torn apart.
As those on the hill
With power lust to kill
Betray our trust.
Our streets of gold are covered in blood.
Our streets of gold are covered in blood.
Our streets of gold are covered in blood.
Our streets of gold
So, bury me down by some old gravel road?
Will you bury me down by some old gravel road?
Some place where no one will find me.
Some place where nobody goes.
A small plot of land,
I'll dig my grave by hand if I must.
Our streets of gold are covered in mud.
Our streets of gold are covered in rust.
Our streets of gold are covered in blood.
Our streets of gold
Our streets of gold

A cool slice of Americana, Eric. The lead vocal, backing vocals and harmonies are all top notch. Excellent sound and playing on the acoustic. I hear nothing politically offensive. Nicely done!
Cool song Eric , lyrics and theme are great i like the hook line and performance, great production and sound all round, yeah americana/folk/country labels labels all sounds like great music to me. enjoyed
brill , great songwriting love it eric , fantastic listen , .......cheers tony cee
finally listening to your new song @eric-lee-saitz ~ I totally get the point of your song...it is very sad & tragic what is happening to my country....
thank you for expressing your feelings & insight in your song
Interesting song. Well crafted and produced.
I didnt get any feeling of political specificity in the song but more a general overall perception of loss, greif depression and disappointment.
Not being an American, your choice of the genre "Americana" perhaps is something which I may not understand or at least feel fully.
As a student of songwriting I did enjoy the listen technically however an can appreciate the skill. thanks for posting.
