you tell me your dreams have been shattered
one by one but in spite of all that
from your broken heart words of kindness break free
words so gentle, of reassurance for me
for my desillusions so easy to heal
you tell me for sure God was watching me
all the time, all the time
yes, He saw me all the time

I would like to know my friend nobody's boy
did He watch over you that time when
you had to hide, the cries of despair
still ring in your head, where was He then that time
when you had to seek refuge in the dirty countries, the foreign countries
where I find you kneeling down
surviving the nightmare while you pray God to pick you up,
that He'll retrieve your soul so desolate and without purpose

and often like any one would
I asked myself why
I know your eternal answer
why not?
but I'm also aware that
He gave usat least 3 beautiful reasons
to reflect on why not
