Got me smiling buddy. Nice punchy drum sounds and a lick so unique to you. This feels like someone is trying to bang a way out. The scope of layers of instruments is so well...

This is a nice piece, liked the backing. It provides just the right support for the guitars to go exploring. Nice work well done
Nice Tune...Very Happy and some great guitar playing here....Loved the feel of it...Great Work

Wow! This is awesome. Talk about some great playing. There is something in the intro that sounds like a distorted percussion part. I know it is part of the song but I think it is distracting to the sweet playing. It is not as noticeable in the rest of the tune. Very sweet tune Clay. This one shines!
I listened to this earlier and really loved the feel.....This is one of those songs that just puts a smile on your face and ya just sit back and cruise with it. Love the biting guitar soloing and tone. Yea, it has that Allman Bros southern feel and I like that. Real fine job and I sure hope there's a download, 'cause this make for some mighty fine cruisin' music.
Rob
Sure enjoyed Clay. Tune has a great vibe and full of cool guitar licks and tone.
Cheers,
Micael
Hey Clay...it's been a short while, well worth the wait. Love this,-cool percussive like steppin' - I can feel about 4 genres mixed already in here, well melded together, some country, funky rock blues. Great guitar playing variations...dig the slide always. Inspired me man. Good sound all around. Nice overlapping here makes for a good arranging. Fine catchy snappy happy tune. Love it. Very good sounds you have created in a good juxtapostioning.(like that word)
Into my faves. You took me to New Mexico to Morocco and back. GREAT! FAB!
EXCELLENT Clay. -Your friend. -Vesa.
Thanks for the close ears and generous comments folks! I tend to build things up out of disparate drum and percussion loops, so part of that genre smear Vesa notes comes out of that: one loop (say) emphasizing the 2 & 4 with another one pushing the 1 & 3, with one being old school funk and the other more of a hip-hop thing. But... as Dazed points out, sometimes pre-processed loops taken out their 'natural' context can be a bit over-active, and I don't have access to the individual elements except perhaps through e.q. The first one here has a sort of sand-papery highhat-like sound and some beeps and burbles that are... confusing to a listener, and I tried to pare them back by notching the highs a little even at the start, and switched to a less distracting loop fairly early in the song. In semi-defense, I'd say that some of that disoriented feeling is half-baked intentional strategy on my part -- an effort to consciously create a sort of "WTF is this?" vibe which might put you on "my" side for the entrance of the guitar (especially with that tuba going!). But then again, I'd have to agree with Dazed that as the track evolved, the first one goes a bit too far, sounding low-fi and tinny in an otherwise warmish space. (If any of that makes any sense!)
Thanks again!
