Back for another listen (heard it on another site) and it still rocks! The line "What's Mine Is Mine" is a great hook. I dig the single guitar intro and of course the bluesy harp work is always a...

Dark, moody and edgy. The gregorian-esk chants and to the simmering flavour. Very tasty. Nice one Bill

Read the blurb on this one and I can certainly not mistake the influences. I'm not a major fan of prog. But this is an accomplished piece of work. The instrumental hook is a piece of inspiration cause it really sticks. well done great piece
I think you've hit the wrong button Dazed. Either that or you're having a sly dig at my vocals by saying they sound good on an instrumental.....lol. I'm assuming this review is meant for Come on By. Thanks for the listen.
Cheers
Brian
Brian - Love the tune. Acoustic sounds very good. Your vocals are always a treat. You sing with a lot of emotion and it sells the song. Your lyrics always paint a vivid picture. Another great song from you!
Man I love this one... just leaps out and holds ya... lots of sweet & tasty moments amd sounds. Then the change at 2:00 just takes on a whole new direction until we return to the theme...intelligent stuff Brian... BRAVO!!! Henry
I'm speechless ... and apparently so are you ... an instrumental track from Self Tort! This one has all of your trademark ingredients, solid rhythm, tasty keys, and fine guitar work, except for your vocals. Can some lyrics and those trademark vocals be far behind?
Great! Shades of Tull, well played and recorded - always threatening to break into a real jig but never quite doing so.
Excellent ... I see some of the influences ... especially Tull around the Thick as a Brick time period! Great track both in concept and execution. One of my favs for sure!
I love this one! I've had it since you posted it at Mix. Very nice and enjoyable. Superb arrangement with lots of changes and subtle nuances. If it were a book I would call it a page turner. Glad you posted it here.
Great intro, I love the rhytmhical background, amazing that synth over the catchy bass line...
The guitar sounds very good, beautiful warm sound and style.
Interesting arrangements too, great change at 2.00 with the guitar solo.
Enjoyed the listening, my congrats!
Cheers, Corrado
Tull, Camel, Genesis, Gentle Giant...at a moment's notice. Yes very proggy and I absolutely love it. Hit the fave button on this one. Great feel and switching of emotions. This song is expressive. I can easily imagine what's going on. Tasteful and excellent playing Brian. SUPER! I'll need to stop in much more often.... ~Blake
Early Genisis..Tull...what feeling of retro done with so much ethusium..I would have imagined this would have been great to play out...progressive..yes keeps the mind happy...as well as my ears!
Very well laid out composition...the foresight ..the delivery...the musicianship.
Our influences are what we become...musically.
This piece i remember very well....one of my many..many fav's of yours!
Prog terratory....COOL
I know you to be more than capable in whatever genre you turn your hand.
Harlequin has shown me before your ability to write cracking progressive rock.
But,this is more epic in nature....
Feels like a stage piece...
A theme to be expanded upon in the live arena.
Great songwriting as always....
Full of shifts in gear and changes in atmopshere.
It feels light hearted,triumphantly dancing...
Cracking musicanship in what is a VERY intricate piece.
Greatly enjoyed with my morning tea
Nigel.
VERY PROGRESSIVE STUFF!! TIGHT AND MELODIC--LIKING THE GUITAR LINES---MAKES ME THINK OF RUSH,YES,AND QUEEN WRAPPED UP INTO ONE SELFTORT CREATION--INFLUENCES ARE MANY--VERY ENJOYABLE MAY BE MY FAVE FROM YOU!!!
MY FAVORITE of yours!! LOVE this song. It has so many influences from a couple of the BEST artists in Prog........J Tull and Camel. It's a perfectly arranged and VERY tight song....with that Andy Latimer feel.
Rob
Selftort -- I really enjoy your music, and this new one is no exception. Very tight, crisp arrangement, with a surprise at every turn, it seems. This is just so well recorded and arrangement. A+++ effort.
