The beginning of the song had me thinking I clicked the wrong page — soft and gentle opening, almost majestic, Ron.
Love how that solo just soars.

Big‑time sounding good, Booby.
Always great hearing some real outlaw country.

One of the longest songs I’ve ever heard.
Pretty sure I aged a full presidential term listening to it.

A bit of a different style from you, Randy. But still some very fine guitar picking with tone and sustain galore!

I am suprised I had not reviewed this,I know it so well
Must be the radio stations?
Well anyways, ths is yet another solid gold Henry classic.
No BS,your voice mate is a winner.
Has that touch o grit, and bag full of realness that I love.
You are without doubt a songwriter, and they becme harder to find as time goes bye...
Star is the vocal of course, but IMHO the songwriting is superb.
Excellent work Henry.
Nigel.
Superb acoustic and vocal in this minimalistic presentation Henry....just fanstastic. Totally enjoyable! ~Blake
Great Henry! Take no prisoners with this lyric, lol. Nice, wide strummed sound and I can really hear the S. Stills influence in this vocal. Well done!
Farrell
very nice!!
great lyrics and love the vocals T. acoustic sounds great and excellent playing!
Great! I love acoustic tunings that are played well and you do it here fantastically! All you need is Crosby, Nash, and Young behind you and you'd have CSN&Y's complete sound. Excellent entry!
Farrell
Oh, yeah -- an acoustic to die for. Very well captured tones. Nice clarity. And the vocals fit it so well. I've listened through most of the entries, I think, and I think tghis is the one that really grabbed me the most. They're all good -- but there's something about the starkness of the acoustic and your vocal that does it for me. Well doen!!!!

SUPERB, HENRY!! I love this chord progression.............sounds so nice. Very gutsy performance all around. Pretty heavy story......whew! Chilling.......GREAT TRACK!!!
Rob
Cracking number, really solid delivery well done
awesome to get such an emotional unplugged version of the contest song.. I really like your guitar on this and a very expressive vocal and lyric.. man americana style is so beautiful to hear.. another vote.. cheers..
Hi Henry ! love the mood this gives me ! like the clean arrangement!! a strong and emotional performence both on the guitar and vocals.
Really great
Christer
Whoa! Heavy, really heavy. The well-told story and the stark cold guitar worked well together. Good job!
T222 hands down my favorite. something about your style..and delivery.
The inner melodies within this simple performance are mezmerizing (IMO)
Maybe..because of my love of Steve Earl's style..or just the down to earth basics...that are so appealing...what ever the case..this IS wild good.
great listen! great entry!
Never too late for a quieter acoustic song. Great gentle and strong vocal range...works well with the complimenting guitar. Fine lyrics. It's a nice change to hear some acoustic artistry. Lovely feeling here.
Very heartfelt music. Love this piece. Excellent.
-Vesa.
Wow...the only thing that was missing was the applause. It had such a wonderful live feel to it that I was really expecting to hear the crowd go wild. There's something about a voice and a guitar.....and when you play guitar this well and have such a compelling voice it's even more special. Wonderful piece of songwriting/storytelling.....performed exquisitely. Congrats.
Great lyric and performance. I love hearing acoustical storytelling. Well done.
Yeah, unplugged ... showing off the excellent vocals and allowing the lyric to take front and center. Very emotional delivery that comes through ... selling the song!!
ohhh, gorgeous guitar....Beautiful....Oh yes...!!!....Lovely vocal...Great tone...Story teller...Very enjoyable..
Peace n Love
