The first thing that catches my ear is the synth work. A cool feature to add depth to the song. Great lyrics and vocal style. The guitar strumming holds the song together like glue. Well done Max!

Back for another listen to this blast from the past. Canned Heat did some cool boogie tracks back in the day and you've given this one a new life with your take on "On The Road Again", nice Ronbo!

::Yeah::
hard drivin rock! love the way it works up to the crescendo at 4:15! wow! cool stuff.... how low is that guitar tuned? lol! hey some nice bass work in there too!
Thanks all! I appreciate the comments.
Funny you should make the Morrison comparison on the vox, as it's been made before when I sing in that register (a more comfortable space for my vocals than the octave I higher I go on, like, "Twa Corbies")! But it's true that the vocals are a _little_ low in the mix -- they're actually pushed as high as I could in GarageBand, but I think I pushed all the rest of the instruments higher in the search for that "wall o' guitars" vibe ... and then was too lazy to tweak everything else back down a couple of notches.
Those are the original vox from the old demo, though. As the synths are really just some old samples my synth-playing friend sent me, he's promised to do some purpose-played synths for the track. When I get those, I'll probably take the time to try to push things around to raise the vox in the mix, or even record new vox .... (For a song I played live so many times, this recording is really a Frankenstein! So it goes!
Wow, made me think of BTO with the heavy beat and then the lead coming in. I just wish your vocals were a little more up front. I could not make out the words clearly.
Drive them afterburners dude... solid and really gets charged from around 3:00 amd on... could feel the paint pealing off there coming back throught the atmosphere...!
PUNCH....POWER....and a TON of DRIVE and BASS to beat the band!! LOVE IT!!! The vocal addition is Jim Morrison haunting.....
Rob
Yeah...takeoff immediately. Then the afterburners kick in after the 3 min mark. The song is reminiscent of somewhere between Steppenwolf and Ten Years After...a really cool blend. Great job Carl..the song has plenty of interest and drive. I think you're vox could be brought upfront more. The instrumental interlude is very cool..love the progressions!! Great job. ~Blake
very cool!! love that bass and distorted guitar. vocals sit nicely. solid solo work. great ride!!
This does exactly what the title says, As for a Frankenstein, this aint a bad recording. Well done
