How did I miss this...neer too late. Love the wah use here, nicely tasty controlled, rolls around in a liquidy sound. Very neat high seering sounds, well done. Give a pat to the drummer. Fine pickin'-love that bit of eastern flasir in there, very kewel. Neat tone. Most steady. A real fave and inspiring tune Donna. SUPERB. Into my faves-original. Love it..WORTH MANY LISTENS.

i tryed to change to a more melodic feel for this even though it was straight ahead rock i felt the eric johnson ,vai,was so out there it might work. glad you liked it. its a fun song for me.i wanted my vocals to get the powerful cross between some of the 70's power rock singers like ann heart meets glenn hughes and they have a baby and she sings like this. something like that!!

For all those who listen to this try the other excellent electronic material here. Good vocal on top of the piano.....the synth coming in as an accent sounds very rich. The vocal melody and timing gives the song a uniqueness because it counters the piano chords and it carries the tempo....a very well done ballad!

Good vocal on top of the piano.....the synth coming in as an accent sounds very rich. The vocal melody and timing gives the song a uniqueness because it counters the piano chords and it carries the tempo....a very well done ballad!

Wonderful story telling, great vocals - very strong track. I really like the dynamics vocal, gives it a nice emotional accent to the story line. Better late than never...this song is a great one on several different levels. Certainly just the music is quite compelling all on it's own. The mixture of instruments and tones is perfect. The playing all around is great. But then add in the vocals and wow...one terrific layer on top of the first! Dazed...superb vocal delivery, great vox and lyrics. Brian also did wonderfully in this and I hear his influence particulary in the string melody.

The changes are really nice hooks and draw you into the track. I'm diggin the keyboard add in the second movement, nice touch. Brians a great drummer and really adds to the live feel of this. Very professional sounding song! There is however a bit of sidechaining going on where the guitar and drums overlap each other in sound - not sure if you intended that to happen or not..

I took the time to listen to the demo version first before writing this review and I have to say this version has really progressed from the demo. The guitar fits in tight with the vox and drums. Vox are great and writing is superb!

From memory, in my review of the earlier version I mentioned some slight clashing between the drums and the electric Rhythm guitar which I thought were distracting for the clear brilliance of the song itself. Bri-an's drums are just right to my ears. The guitar and drums are now perfectly in synch and the use of the strings operates to turn the spotlight onto that sensation chorus section. Wow, this song is now shining bright. Great piece of work. Love it.

Excellent choice of collaborators, Larry. Christer adds real dimension to this track with his playing but doesn't try to take it away from you. The charm of the original is still there but with that extra edge to it. Congrats, love it.

I hear the Steely Dan thang!! everytime i hear it...My love for this gernre of music automatically gets me movin..both physically and mentally..Chrickon's injection again is done with some incredible foresight for the piece...and lifts this already fine work to levels of excellence....

But really,the playing is what really holds my attention.
Smooth,fluid and oh so tasteful throughout.
Of course the guitar is taking centre stage with some ultra cool playing,but I must admit that I am also keeping a very close ear on all else,and it is all as sparkling as the lead it carries.

The only thing I don't agree is with the 70's paradigm. Music is timeless... Specially compositions like this one, with a lot of bebop feel in it... If I would have to set an era or time frame I would place this great performance in the 2012, the renaissance of good music, as it is arriving!!!!!

Man this is sure a change of pace from Sex and Love and Rock and Roll that I heard yesterday. This is a beautifully "chill" piece of jazz funk. Lovely progressions and sweet sweet melody. Loved your playing on this one. Sweet work indeed.

this was a first attempt to capture the 70's feel of beck and fusion when i wrote this. i wrote all the drums and bass and keys for the song. the drummer had the most problems because it was hard for him to hear the crazy in and out of timing. but it worked and it turned out lovely. it is dedicated to my mother who was from that time. her name was Faith.

Why do people who write and perform really cool intricate music, persist in calling it "easy listening". Sure you could sit back and let this drift over you, but you'd be missing something really beautiful. And how did this get so far down the New Songs page with just 2 reviews. It's a funny old world. But back to the music. Gorgeous work Christer. Smooth is the word all right. But sheer class. The production and playing is out of this world. Melodic, harmonic. This isn't easy listening. This is grab the one you love, hold them close and let the passion flow. This, and the performer, is "One of a Kind". Great work. Inspired and awesome work from a huge talent.
