David 'Chief' Carter and Anthony 'TJ' Allgeier met in Louisville, KY at the University of Louisville in the late 90's where Chief was studying classical guitar and TJ was studying clarinet. TJ went off to New Mexico and Texas for 7 years and gave Chief a call when he got back to Louisville. Chief brought his guitar over and we improvised the basis for what became "Colors of Water". We liked the hell out of it, so we started experimenting. Clarinet and electric guitar? Let's see what happens..."Lincoln Avenue".

Everything you hear is improvised. We come up with a basic riff, a key, a harmonic area, a mode, a texture, an instrumental mix, or some combination of those and press record. Chief does the magic with his multitrack recorder. In Groove4Five for example, there's a bass clarinet track and some other wind tracks, and Chief plays bass and guitar tracks. We start simple and let the music tell us where to go, and we follow it. But there are simpler tracks too, like "Colors of Water" which is guitar and clarinet, improvised, one take. Done.

We do hope you enjoy. We've gotten some great feed back hear on mixposure. We wish we'd found this sooner. Many thanks to BigPete and ftlpope2!! Drop us a line. We want to know what you think.

The first five tracks are the ones to hear first. We've reused an idea only once or twice, and only then because there was a change in instrumentation or setting. If you like what you hear in the first five, poke around in the subsequent 17. We'll be making more music and releasing it soon.
