Verse 1
The stars seem brighter
than they've ever been
everything I left behind
was waiting up there ahead of me
I'm no longer a prisoner
I'm no longer in chains
I know the flood is coming
so please don't
close your eyes
When it rains it pours
and it's comin' down
Word to the father
and mother earth
wore out my welcome
I knew when to step aside
know when your luck runs out
or it will bleed you dry
Chorus
Brighter days follow
every rain storm
And night always
gives way to dawn
It's raining down
like fire on me
boy it's kicking up a storm
solitude I've known
like my own
Verse 2
It's the lightning
not the thunder
you never know where
it's gonna strike
all the answers
are on the table
but you keep on questioning me
can't look you in the face
yet I wanna let you in
need remedies to my regrets
memories I won't forget
I been through the rain
and them stormy days
I have no objection
to changing my direction
I am the wolf who hides
in sheep's clothing
Break
Chorus
Brighter days follow
every rain storm
and night always
gives way to dawn
It's raining down
like fire on me
boy it's kicking up a storm
solitude I've known
like my own
Verse 3
It's the lightning
not the thunder
you never know where
it's gonna strike
all the answers
are on the table
but you keep on questioning me
can't look you in the face
yet I wanna let you in
need remedies to my regrets
memories I won't forget
I been through the rain
and them stormy days
I have no objection
to changing my direction
I am the wolf who hides
in sheep's clothing
good guitar theme with a good headline..
Big song, here😌 Lots to absorb and listen to. Great lyrics and your poetic vocals work great. The guitar and bass lines were full of nice ear surprises. What a great ending!!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
This might just be my new favorite from the two of you! Some excellent guitar work Ricky! If almost sounds like a love song type of song until I read the lyrics. Maybe a love song about staying true to oneself? I know longer am sure who writes the lyrics on these songs but it's fantastic. I have said it many times but I love the contrast between Dave's gritty delivery and the polished vibe of the track. Great work guys!
Peace
Eric
A seriously cool southern rock vibe to this, guys. Love it, soaring guitars and a helluva lyric.
Great lyrics Twank! I like this different style of guitar you're doing here, Ricky...it's cool man! Also, there's some super production with this track. Well done guys!
good lyrics cool guitar, a sung chorus would work real well on this track, enjoyed that phase section breakdown and bass . cool art work btw too
