When the darkness comes no this is not the place to be Have you ever sacrificed and made a choice for me? Heathens never come to find the answers to their prayers Shamen see an open door while others stop and stare
An echo never lies
Stuck now in a vortex of another place and time Dwell here any longer and I'm sure to lose my mind Gladiators turn to dust but they will never die This is but a mismatch and I cannot fathom why
An echo never lies

This is a song I created for a songwriting challenge on another website. One where all the contestants are all required to use the same loop in our songs. Anywho, this happened to be my virgin voyage in to the world of LIOLI (Loop It Or Lose It) and it was actually pretty fun.
After one false start of an idea (that I quickly jettisoned), I stumbled upon a loop that matched the required loop perfectly and I was off to the races. So other than some precision cutting and pasting, this bad-boy is all loops. The only parts that are original are the vocals and lyrics.
By the way, for those of you with GarageBand (who give a damn), the required loop for this particular challenge was Dance Floor Pattern #43.
So without further ado, as Ike and Tina said: "Here we go loop-de-loop!"
Enjoy.

Just read the song info, very interesting story. You used the loops very well. Your work gives this some credibility. It has a traditional folk feel from the late 60's early 70's. Nice ideas on the vox. I enjoyed this one well done

Redolent of many sixties artists, this is very evocative and beautifully executed and constructed with subtlety. ftlpope
