File Sharing....Qtrax
While the big news,,,,,.is,,,,,, file sharing,.....big bucks Q-trax etc..... What can be better than exchanging tracks with friends in the hopes of ,connecting with one another.,with what we hold dear...........and that is music !! I should be so lucky, that someone would want to rip me off........no worries.......I like to make music.................and I'll continue to throw it out there,to whomever may listen.......The joy of making and presenting music is, IMO.... more important than....most anything else. This file sharing is all about Major artist, not the little independent music makers .....who enjoy what they do...... SHARE.....CONNECT,EXCHANGE and appreciate the comments of those.......... we call brothers.!!! Brothers,that, thru different circumstances have made sacrifices !!Enjoy what they(we) cherish,,,

I feel like I'm being carried down river in a flood. The changes in how we listen and buy music are unfolding at a speed I just can't get my head around. I used to make a living performing, and always thought I'd get back in - far enough to sell tapes ....errr CDs to pay for my toys and joys... but now????? I thank God the music IS the main joy... cuz my bank account sure hasn't grown from it in the last few years ! Yikes !
Larry....This is a subject I have gotten into many arguments over. WHEW!! Sure glad I didn't bring it up. The funny thing is....the arguments were from people just like me....OMD artists.....BUT THEY!! Must have bigger expectations of their success. My success is HERE!! I am able to make music, put it for people to listen to....and if they really like it, download it for their own listening time. I am a BIG Fan of many artists here. I listen to ALL IMS artists, while driving now. I'll tell ya this, I wish I had a 'puter in my truck to express the entusiam I have for their music. I've gotten chills, huge smiles, and TONS of good feelings listening to the IMS music. SO!! I say....THANKS!! SO MUCH!! To ALL who share their files here. I GREATLY Enjoy and Appreciate it! Anybody wanna make one of mt songs a hit?!?!?!?! GO FOR IT!...Hahahahahahahahahaha and GOOD LUCK!! I should be so honored

Did I say guitar players were a dime a dozen....? I hope everyone realizes I was joking..... If it wasn't for guitar players ,NONE, of my songs would be worth a shite.The worst guitar player I've heard..... was excellent !!!!!! Me and my big mouth !!!!

Thanks for your blog - this is a real valid point. I think that we can all agree that we here at IMS all win when we share our music with each other, collab etc. Let it go and watch us ALL grow. To think of what I've learnt since meeting everyone on this site just boggles me, and the generosity of spirit of the members and the goodwill is an inspiration.
Rapster - you're right, guitar players are a dime a dozen. I think there's a discount going on as well at the moment. I hear you can get 20 for a dime these days! And I'm flattered that anyone wants to hear my music, especially you Rappy. I play my music to my mates at home and they just look at me funny. If it wasnt for THIS place I'd go nuts.

love ya bro.. couldn't agree more.. who knows who's doing what with our music out there.. but i'm sure of one thing.. they ain't getting rich.. lol.. even the industry admits it's on the way out.. the future belongs to artist promotion, tours and the marketing of fan articles.. the music, as prince so aptly demonstrated will all be free.. hell with limewire (to mention only one site) i can get anything now that I want anyway.. and with everybody making CDs, good and not so good, who knows what to buy any more? the prestige is gone now that everybody can sell their CD on itunes.. we like each others music.. we collab together.. we both try to promote it for what it's worth.. lol.. I think it's great we don't sell.. we are FREE.. to make any kind of music we want to.. man if i thought i had to create in the narrow confines of what the industry wants to promote then I'd have no songs.. lol.. and this old body.. grey hair.. not a chance in hell.. (but maybe margot macdonald does!).. give it away is what I say.. it is very short sighted to think we are going to make it so i better withhold downloads.. if even just a few around the world like what we do.. download it.. then our music has a chance of being heard.. we can't expect anybody to find us here.. or on myspace.. spread it to the far corners by making it available..
that's the best chance to build a following.. if they don't hear ya.. they can't support ya.. as you say larry.. we do it for the love of music anyway.. so let's share it with everybody.. man I can download roobo and try to copy his licks but i could never sound like him.. so what has he to fear? lol.. he is glad i'm sure i that i think so much of his music that i would want to have it.. and that goes for me too.. we can tell anybody really that their song is great (for whatever reasons) but the bottom line is did we download it? to me that's the ultimate compliment.. maybe people grab it for various reasons but it still means something.. nobody will DL something they don't like.. will they? lol.. cheers my brother LT.. you're right we guitarists are a dime a dozen.. no hard feelings bro.. lol..
